Boxer manifold

That looks like 4 X 1 1/4" SU. It would be pretty horrifying to set up, but once done would give nice straight inlet tracts. Probably not really worth it as the heads aren't really up to the potentail of the manifold. OK on Merlins though!

It's 4 HIF6's, those ones are from a pair of SD1's, (would that make them HIF44's?) and you have got to be on top of your game to set them up initially, and then keep them that way. They look good under the bonnet but I'm sure that a hotwire injection system would give equal power and be a lot easier to manage.

They do look nice (IMO) but you'd need to do a lot of work to the rest of the engine for it to need the amount of air those 4 could flow.

Hi, honestly you see one then another comes along right after. I found this
earlier today and I wasn't even looking for it:-

Making good money for something that is really for show only because as said they
can be involved to set up properly. I can only assume it is the younger generation
who dont know.

Still got the mag article somewhere from back in the day which reckoned they were good.

Can't remember if that was on a stock motor or not :|

No harder to set up then anything else with 3 or 4 carbs :D

Hhhmm! 4 x HS6 (or HIF 6 or HIF 44!) is considerably over the odds gas flow wise - so you'd expect it to perform extremely badly at low rpm. That and all the hassle setting up
