Hard covers too! Nothing like being able to sit down in a nice corner with a cup of tea and a good book. Books have their own character, feel and touch. I like my books to look like they have never been read, even if I have looked at them over 1000 times.

I liked the CX & it's crazy 'underwater' speedo. They changed it to a more conventional unit later which l thought was a retrograde step.
Peugeot costcutting?

Another suggestion or 2 - Exactly, Simon Winchester. All his other books are well worth reading, especially The Doctor of Crowthorne, lately a movie with Mel Gibson and Sean Penn. For something more cerebral, ALL the books by Jared Diamond - IMHO his Collapse is very pertinent to Australia now. Workshop manual on the Jag D type is good. Darwin's Origin of Species (almost free for Kindle) is a surprisingly easy read for its time....shouldnt have got me started.

I must admit i admire them more and more, but in contrast to you i am not a big fan of the series 1 dashboard. When they replaced it in the mid 80's it must have really gone out of fashion. I haven't driven one yet, and given the circumstances i don't think that i would be able to own a decent example in the near future, but there you go...
