Hi All,

looking for some advice with my P6 3500 Borg and Warner 65 gearbox.
Has anyone got a guide of how to adjust the bands with the box in situ??
The symptoms I have are is occasionally it wines and slips in I believe 2nd gear.
Checked the fluid level and my dipstick only has a cold setting so went for a drive through all the gears the got home and selected all gears when stationary then checked the fluid it was half an inch above the cold marker.
Wanted to see if I could adjust the Bands myself if possible.
Can anyone point me in the right direction

It's difficult to do in-situ without the proper tools, but you slacken the locknut, tighten the adjuster to 5 lbf ft, back off 3/4 of a turn, and tighten the locknut. It's the same for both adjusters.

Thanks Harvey,
Any tips for spanner and socket sizes, would like to have a go at it myself

Locknut is 3/4" AF, but the adjuster itself isn't a hex, more like a rounded off square, so you'll have to make something for that.

Thanks again Harvey.
If it does prove too much for me.
Was also going to ask if you could recommend anyone around the Essex area who could work on these gearboxes ?

I used to do them, but I've retired, and all the other people that I knew that did them are of a similar age and they've all retired too.
