I think Jeff at wins has the sole license to remake them again if he wants.
I wonder if TATA lawyers are of the same opinion? No one has a licence to make any thing and I doubt that the original copy right of the Rover company design for that badge has any legal effect this far down the track.......

Rover brand is either owned by JLR or TATA direct. BMW kept it when LR was owned by Ford , but was sold it on by BMW when TATA took over JLR. MG Rover never owned the Rover brand but did own MG, that's why there are still MG branded products made in ChinaI think ownership of things like car parts hardware is a little blurred now with mechanical going to Siac in China and the actual Rover name going elsewhere possibly Tata or is it ford or BMW I dont think it is Landrover however all that said I dont think after the mess of the break up any one cares any more. I also doubt that Ian Wilson actually approached the disparate factions of the potential owners of the badge intellectual or copy right owners, though I am happy to be corrected.
In the event of any queries from those parties I suspect that the classics market for long dead cars is of any interest to them as seems to be the case with other vintage car reproduction parts for other marques.

Its interesting when you go to China and you see "Rover" 75's everywhere or should I say Roewe. That particular car does not engender the respect of the local Chinese even though it looks pretty identical to its UK produced counterpart.
Before wins Steve walker of S&G Walkers had them remade and he showed me the first batch in the early 90s.

What were Steve's like? Ian Wilsons were indistinguishable from the Rover original ones except for possibly being better.
I have a few bought of Flea bay and other places all non original ones from other suppliers and with out exception they are awful.
Here a link to the badges that Ian commisioned Another bonnet badge
