Black 2000TC in Florida

Does look very purposeful. The black paint, Rostyles and the white lettering on the tyres (the latter I normally never like, an exception here) goes very well with the very dark tinted windows.

Was black an original Rover colour for the German market, where this car originally came from? I have never seen a black P6 / P6B in Australia, but I do like the look of this particular one.

Ron.

hi oldlook,
the 3500'S NADA had reflectors on front and rear wings ( orange on front, red on rear ) as standard. the 2000TC i am not sure about, but have seen roughly 50/50 with them on and off. so i don't know if they were state specific or what.

I knew the NADA 3500S had reflectors, but I had no idea 2000TC's got them too. I was assuming they were a custom addition by the owner. Are they always orange at the back corners with none at the front?

Ian,

They would have been a federal (i.e. national) requirement as the individual states don't regulate minimum automotive standards like lights, reflectors, bumpers, etc. A state could theoretically impose additional requirements, but could not undercut the minimum federal standards.

If the car came from Germany originally it probably isn't a federal TC - and as noted by oldlook it doesn't have the front reflectors. However, It does have the under bumper front turn signals though... did German P6s have those? If it was imported to the US it may have been required to have the reflectors added. My guess is the red lenses have discoloured in the Florida sunshine - I know from experience what kind of damage the sun can do to the plastic lenses.

Still, it does look good.

*This TC seems to have the rear reflectors only... viewtopic.php?f=17&t=10094

I wonder what makes them think it came from Germany? The dual circuit brakes and icelert suggest US market. My understanding of the lighting situation was that NADA 4 cyls got side reflectors in 1968 (amber front and red rear) but the underslung front indicators were fitted to the NADA V8s only along with side marker lights.
Good looking car though...

It also has the amblair interior.
Everything points that it's a NADA car, i can't see the German connection.
