Battery Question

I have been asked a question regarding a battery to fit a 2200SC. My car is a 3500 NADA and the battery I use is this:



It is a perfect fit in the box and the clamping cage as you can see. But the question has come from someone who thinks it may not fit in his 2200 as the internal length of the mattery box he has is 250mm and the battery length is quoted as 269mm apparently. I have recommended this battery to others in the past and had no complaints!

So my question is are all battery boxes on UK cars the same size? I know the NADA is a metal box and completely different but I am not sure what is fitted to UK cars.

All UK battery boxes are the same size AFAIK.

Have you screwed your battery box down to the base unit?

PS. I think the extra on the battery size is the lip around the top which doesn't actually fit inside the box.

Yes the battery box is screwed to the base unit.

I doubt that the battery will end up hanging by the cables like it can with the fibreglass box.

UK battery boxes are smaller than the NADA ones. NADA's are metal, as per the picture above. UK-spec ones are plastic (ABS?) and much thicker, so the internally available dimensions are less.
