I have not been on the forum for a little while, and that is owing to the fact that I have gone back to the books. I applied for and have been accepted into a double degree in Engineering,..Bachelor of Technology / Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering.

It is a great honour, and I am really proud and excited to have been one of only 29 to have been selected.

You're a brave man Ron. I don't think I could face going back to full-time education. Good luck with the course/s. I suspect you'll be okay if your in-depth posts on here are anything to go by :)

Whow - you certainly will do well in that field . You are following your passion . Thats what works in life .

Good for you Ron! It is always a good thing to learn. I just hope we will continue to see you and your Rover on here!
Regards, Barten

It' good to go and learn new stuff. I've not been here for a few years, drop by from time to time. Why? Because in 2012 I started doing a part time degree with the OU. This has put my rover on the back burner. She had developed a bad oil leek and needed stipping down to fix. But as I come to the end of my degree, the old girl is going to get a new lease of life. (that is the plan).

Good luck with your studies. :)

Thanks gents, appreciate your comments. :) Indeed, learning something new is always worthwhile. I'll definitely be on here regularly Barten, just been finding my feet, adjusting to the workload, planning etc.

Best of luck with it Ron! While I'd love to be back in college I could face the educational part of it!! Having to get one engineering degree was enough!!

Well my first year back at university is coming to a close, in terms of organised classes. I am really loving it, although some parts more than others, with structures and materials being two areas that I really enjoy.
Being able to ultimately design a bridge or one of the World's tallest buildings is pretty exciting!

Found this really great video on what Civil Engineers do, and the "Lego Bridge".
