hi every one after looking for three or four months ive put a deposit on a 1972 camaron green 3500s as advertised on the p6 drivers club there bringing it to me this week, it probably needs more work than i have estimated, its motd till august, drives realy well with 67000 miles on the clock, has original four speed box, stainless exhaust boxs, good oil presure, pas, sandle wood leather seats, luminition, electric fuel pump,6 previous owners the bad points are both outer d posts and probably inner have rot,one front and one rear wing will need replacing, all rubber seals are shot, all paint work has completly faded, non of the seats have any rips but are very dirty the rest of the interior is tatty and dirty, it seems the previous owners have cocentrated on the mechanical up keep of it and apart from having the inner sills welded left the rest, they owned it for the last ten years, so i need d post repair sections and wings first where could i buy these parts i live in essex, plus does anyone no a p6 specialist near wickford in essex or in essex, also is footman james the best insurer, any advice apreciated hope to see some of you at duxford

Hi iggy,

Footman James are good, but give Gott & Wynne a bell as I have recently changed to them, they are very efficient and gave me a really good quote!

As far as paint wise, it depends on your budget! A very good firm are in Maldon, Essex but expensive.

Repair panels can be purchased from J R Wadhams.

By the way, nice car!

Mike.

Welcome Iggy, and best of luck with your project.
Have a word with Harveyp6, he knows a mechanic chap in Abridge Nr Ongar, who is well aquainted with the P6.

Hi Iggy,

Ebay can be a good source for replacement wings, and other panels. You might have to wait until some come up in your local area though.

you could try 'lancaster' for insurance
cheapest i've found and no problem as long as you have no crashes!
they just take less cash than the others
ebay or 'wins' for panels
go local for the cost of postage is rather large these days
