AOI 426 is my 1969 Three Thousand Five. My Dad had her from new and she is a Belfast registered car (from new)

I have had her from 1986. In 1987 we attended our first Classic car event and have attended an average of around 20 shows each year since. So she is very well known around here.

Here are just a few of the many photos taken over the years.................

In 1990 we went on our Honeymoon in her. (That is Brabus adding the decorations)

In 1991 we won the B&H Classic Run

In 1993 we were invited to an open day at a local MoT centre, when the emissions tests came into force - although AOi was exempt, she passed.
Brabus owned the Lilac one!

In 1996 she was one of the wedding cars for my Brother-in-law

In 1999 we were invited to Aras an Uachtarain - The residence of the President of Ireland

In 2004 she was getting ready for the 100th Anniversary of Rover cars celebration

In 2006 we were invited to display at a local indoor Classic car Show

In 2010 we visited Parliament Buildings in Belfast

At a Classic car event in 2011

With Star Wars characters in 2012

With Chitty in 2013

With Minnie Mouse

Great set of photos! Tell me, why did you remove the SD1 wheels? I think they suit the car quite well.

Thank you. I only fitted the SD1 trims because of where I worked at the time people used to steal P6 wheel trims. You used to see ice cream vans driving around with them on. I still have the trims and some day may redo the black bits and put them back on for a while. She still has the SD1 wheel studs. :D

I have a full set of five original wire wheels and hubs, all in really good condition. I would really like to fit them but need tyres, tubes and different front calipers :D

Here are a few more...

This is us just leaving on Honeymoon in 1990...

Up until 1995 I drove her everyday and she was a real workhorse, often towing an unbraked transporter. This is in 1994...

Here beside one of the armoured vehicles which used to patrol the streets of Belfast...

At the entrance to Tollymore Forest Park in County Down...

In front of Samson and Goliath - the two famous cranes of our shipyard...

At HMS Caroline - the last surviving warship from World War 1...

Looking out of a scuttle (porthole) of HMS Caroline...

In one of the exercise yards at Belfast's famous Crumlin Road Gaol (jail)...

Another one at Crumlin Road Gaol...

A bit of fun. That's my 11 year old son at the wheel!

Thanks,

Colin

What a beautiful life and beautiful history. I hope mine will be just as colourful and when it's time I can pass her down to one of my daughters.
