Come on chaps. Rallies aren't just for concours winners and old buffers in tweed caps! How many of the younger owners with grotty paintwork, phat look or other mods are coming along to Petworth?

You know you're all welcme on here already. I promise you'll be welcome in a field in front of a stately home too!

My personal prize is a picture spot in the next magazine for the car that is furthest from winning a concours prize!

We can't let Tony Bunting win that with his brush applied red paint (again!).

Mine's by no means pristine, I call it a good 10 foot car... looks good from 10 feet away.. I got my car on the road by coming across 4 doors & 4 wings on Ebay in the right colour.. How cool is that? It's not quite "ratty", but I'm saving up to get it painted properly. Quite fancy paprika actually... after reading this month's club mag.. 8) 8)

Mines not too pretty either... Doesn't matter though. It's sound in body now thats the main thing :)

Get close to mine and you can pick faults too, but bear in mind how old our cars are, I have seen plenty of 'modern' cars in a worse state. I like to call mine work in progress 8)

Mine has had a rather dodgy respray (they managed to spray part of the carpet  ),and has some rather nice slot mags fitted ,does that count ?

Hi all,

I believe we’d be in with a shout for this prize with ours  but (here come the excuses) alas too far away, Gav. not quite finished, etc.... I think it would rather fit the bill though 8) Maybe someday :D

Way back in the 90's I had a Dolly Sprint as my daily and was doing a rolling resto.
I went to the annual Triumph club event at Duxford and won dog of the day! :D
No panel was the same colour, all rust paint or multicoloured primer, even a welded on front wing in bare metal with surface rust,3 different types of wheel,3 colours of interior, and some naff recycled house carpet,1/2 the vynil roof ripped off,and I had lowered the front but not the back,oh and a Peugeot 405 rear boot spoiler!!
It was mechanically great, had a racing cam, lsd, and Jag XJ6 twin carbs and went like S##t of a shovel!
There has to be a really NAFF looking example out there, not just your normal little dints but bloomin great scabs, scars and gaping wounds that is still MOT'd,legal and drives!!
Something like this!!

there was one at the enfield pageant show the last two years running it had no outer sills and looked like it had been dragged out of the sea

Oh I sort of know that car, it's a rather nice sounding car, with 2 front 14" rostyle wheels (the others don't have legal tyres). Mechanically very good, although at this years pageant, the owner was doing a live rolling restoration - the brake servo was faulty so he took it to pieces and rebuilt it. Structurally, very good - it has had little welding by the owner himself, and the outer sills are left off so that people can see the soundness of the baseunit, and one or two other reasons.

Here is a side shot:

The owners name escapes me at present, he was parked in the RSR stand this year. Sure Nick Dunning knows him... shortish guy with coller length curlyish dark hair, kinda wearing a beard of sorts. Spoke to him on the Friday and Saturday, friendly guy and a fixer of rovers :D

Ian Milson I believe, my friend's friendly local welder. He also does quite a bit of work with P4's.
