The conversion Kits look quite cheap to buy EX Chinese suppliers. Replacement bulbs are cheap and performance would be greatly enhanced, I imagine the headlamp shell would need replacing to an H4 format.

Conventional headlight lenses are often not well suited to HID conversions - you are better off with projector units because they have a better beam pattern.

I fitted an HID kit to my Chevy Lumina (Vauxhall/Holden Monaro) which had halogen projector headlights and the results were superb. Crisp white light and much better night visibility. The original wiring loom was well up to the job because the HID units don't actually use much power.

6000k seemed to give the best colour, too - others were too blue or two yellow.

I have heard about HID Xenon conversion kit. Its good for Brighter light consuming less energy.
Its out put is more brighter than the old halogen headlights.

And the reason modern cars lights blind oncoming traffic as well!
You can see where you are going better but blind others!
Stick with an easy halogen upgrade from a BMW or Capri or fit higher spec outers and 75w inners!

I understand that you can only fit them if the car was fitted with them at any point during its production cycle. ie. if Rover fitted them is 1977, then you could retrofit them to a pre 1977 car. As Rover never fitted them to a P6, I think that they wouldn't be legal to fit them in the UK. I may be wrong though!
