Not rainwater Demetris, just soft water here. The water in most parts of Scotland (with a few exceptions) flows through granite so doesn't pick up minerals from the limestone or chalk like it does in more southerly parts of the UK

Dave, i understand, i was just pulling your leg.
However, i don't really know if even soft water might be as good as rainwater for the purpose. It is true though that it is significantly less likely to cause problems like the CaCO3 rich water.
