Anti Freeze

Hi All,

Just purchased my P6 and she will need to have some anti-freeze put in her. My Standard 8 could only use a particular type to avoid severe corrosion, is this the same with the Rover and if so what type/make should I be getting?

Regards

John

So, if your tap pours rainwater all is well! :D

Not rainwater Demetris, just soft water here. The water in most parts of Scotland (with a few exceptions) flows through granite so doesn't pick up minerals from the limestone or chalk like it does in more southerly parts of the UK :D

Dave, i understand, i was just pulling your leg.
However, i don't really know if even soft water might be as good as rainwater for the purpose. It is true though that it is significantly less likely to cause problems like the CaCO3 rich water.

The other thing we're not short of here is rainwater  I have 2 water butts in the garden but I could easily fill another 20 with the rain we get here
