Another New Guy

Greetings from the UK!

I've taken the dive away from my usual MG/Land Rover stomping grounds to get stuck into this 3500S. Bought back in January just before I deployed overseas on operations (hence the rather damp and sorry looking photos), the body is seemingly in good condition, and although I haven't pulled the interior apart to conduct a properly thorough rot check yet, all the obvious places are in great shape.

I've only identified a few outstanding jobs in the short time I've had with the car; a DeDion gaiter (might as well service the tube and get a good look at the mounts in the process), a slight hesitation under acceleration which is hopefully something super simple like dashpots or points, and what feels like an issue with the remote selector bushes (reverse-first and second-third gear changes must be conducted very gently or they won't seat). I expect more will need to be done as is always the case with old cars but (fingers crossed) it's there or thereabouts.

I wonder if anyone on here is familiar with the car? The invoices I have from the last 5 years suggest its recent previous owners have invested a lot of time and love in the car, and it's a privilege to carry on in the same vein as best I can.

I'm new to the P6 and new to the Rover V8, and I like to be as sure as I can of what I'm doing before conducting any work on a car, so I expect I'll be on here a lot when I get back to the UK looking for advice or people's experiences, and I hope to run into some of you out and about in the summer if they're able to ease the lockdown sufficiently.
