An Odd Request (master cylinder)

Hi Folks

I have an odd request ,I have been asked at work to try and source a master cylinder ,on the drawing it looks like a clutch master cylinder similar to the one on a V8 P6 but the dimensions are slightly larger ,the distance between the two mounting holes needs to be 2.5 inches ,the P6 one is 2.25 inches ,plus the pison bore needs to be 7/8 inch ,there is a Girling part No 64066004 on the drawing ,but this may just be a casting number

Could it be a Land Rover part ?

Cheers

Adam

I have a Series 2 LR Master cylinder fitted to my 3500s, which as far as I could tell was identical to the proper P6 one in every way. Bolted straight on and works perfectly. Perhaps your drawing is for a later 90/110 or something?

I have a Land Rover in bits at the moment so will take some measurements this evening.
Does the cylinder need a single outlet?

Yes Willy ,it has a single outlet ,but I have noticed the spacing for the mounting holes may be too narrow

cheers

The brake master cylinder I have is off a Series III with a servo and much larger. The clutch master cylinder is 2.25" between the mounting holes, and is marked 'Girling 3/4' which presumably relates to the bore. This also looks the same as a later clutch master cylinder for a Land Rover 110 so you don't appear to be in luck.

Hi, from research I have done in the past Land Rover Master cylinders come in a variety of
sizes depending on application, sizes range from 3/4", 7/8", 1" and 1. 1/16" I think. It is
difficult to decipher which is which on websites as they don't usually give that info. However
if you ring them up they usually know the bore sizes and can supply. Try these two I've had good
service in the past with details of individual parts. -
