Any of them can crack at any time. See if you can get yours welded up, we've done it with some success. Then have another one in reserve for the next time it happens so you can swap it over.
Fortunately for me, l have acquired a 4 into 1 manifold which should save me from such an occurrence happening again, fingers crossed.

Just had a good feel and its the no4 pipe going into the front branch joint, will get the carbs off and have a proper look at the weekend. Can the exhaust manifold be removed/fitted with the inlet manifold still in place?

Far easier to remove the carbs, the whole job doesn't take long, especially after a few times.

Has anyone had a set of headers made for the Rover v8 engine , the cast iron ones seem very utilitarian to be efficient?
