2200 Diff wanted

Hello All,

In a quest to find a vibration/rumble from the rear end at 35-40 then back in around 60, has anyone got a diff for a 2200 that they would be interested in parting with?

Many thanks

Richard.

Change all the UJs if in unknown condition before tackling a diff (cheap) and make sure all the bushes are in good order.

Hi, At those two speed ranges it going to be drive shafts as opposed to propshaft, but check them anyway, also check the tyres for uneven wear or bulges, and the dampers for security and effectiveness.

Thanks guys,

The Prop has been off and balanced, th Uj’s checked, wheel balance checked the bearing at the diff extension changed and the reason the vibration was bought to light was the new diff mounts, so want to get hold of a diff to try....

If the vibration started after replacing the diff mounts, that's where I'd be looking first.

Even with the vibration damper missing from the pinion shaft housing I've never experienced a diff causing a vibration.

Thanks Harvey, I think that the vibration is now evident as the diff mounting bushes were utterly knackered so I think it is now showing its hand. Driveshafts?

I had a similar vibration in the past, It got really bad and when I checked it was the bolts holding the transmission case to the bell housing had stripped and come loose...
