2000 tc engine strip/rebuild

Some useful info for newcomers. When I had 2 TCs in the 70s, and did many many miles, I had very little issues with oil pressure. The pump has a 'weir' or dam inside that stayed full at shutdown, and ensured that it could always prime without assistance. I did make sure all filters had anti-drain valves, the best being the AC make, with the crimped flange around the body halfway along. Actually found a case full at a Sunday market once, bought the lot and shared them with other 2000 owners. Saw a couple of badly eroded psiton crowns , probably caused by people using low octane/poor quality fuel. Changed a leaking side plate on the left in the car once - not fun. Burnt out at least one exhaust at the bottom bend.
