1970 V8 - Alive but limping for now...

If it were mine,I would remove the bumpers and unbolt all the panels except for roof and 1/4 panels.
Fully inspect it for rust and repair it,and if the panels will not polish up great then treat it to a full repaint.

Just waiting for her to come back from the mechanics who have had the carbs and rads taken out for reconditioning.
Hopefully I can get it back soon and then will look at all the panels again. I did look at under the floor carpet, it's
all good and no rust. Under carriage has also had work done. So let's see when I get her back, for now have a look
and see what you think.

Gotta love a green S1 V8. When the recommissioning is done it'll be really nice.

Look at those floors! It obviously didn't spend long in the UK then.

Sage green as well, the best green!

Been trying to determine which green it is...so now i know.

Called the mechs and he said the carbs and rads just got back yesterday, i.e. Friday.
So hopefully next week he'll be able to put them back in. Cost me a bomb already.
But can't wait to get her back.

also check for rust under the stainless trim (treadplate?) only three small screws to undo, and the stainless trim at the front pillar (a-post) bit more akward to get off as it is pop rivited in place but can be re-fitted using stainless self tappers, behind there can get bunged up with leaf debris etc not allowing water to drain away effectivley.

I say my S2 is BRG as I don't know what it was resprayed over from the original Arden Green, but it could be Sage as it looks similar to your colour, which is nice btw.

hi all...been a while since i updated this page. Safe to say my beloved is up and running and limping no more. Thanks to several people who have helped
and especially Al who came and did many things to it too. It has been a journey with lots of breakdowns on the road with lots of money spent rebuilding
carbs, transmission, brakes and starter motor, coil, distributor and fuel pump replaced. I cannot say enough how much she puts a smile on my face every time
I take her to stretch her legs. So I am loving it and it has been worth it. Now it's time to get her to pass through WoF (or MoT) and get her registered again
and she'll be my daily runner. Thanks everyone for helping me out...
