1967 2000TC on Car & Classic

Lovely car - just like my dad's first one that must have given me the P6 bug all those years ago!

Wouldn't a sale date of 2nd July 1967 make it E-reg? That registration 'year' was 1st Jan to 31 Jul '67.

(I'll get my anorak....)

Ooops!
Interesting point - I've rechecked and the cheque receipt is dated July 2nd but the invoice is in fact written 1st August 1967.
So the proud lady was able to drive home on the first day of 'F' suffix with everybody saying 'Look Look it's a new car!'
She had driven there in her Wolseley 4/44 for which they allowed £150 trade-in.
That's a nice anorak you've got there!

I don't want to sound annoying, but I think using better pictures of your car will increase you're chance of selling it there. The pics you're using now are rather low on resolution and the lighintg seems off in a few (too bright). Some more detail shots of the car would be nice as well.

It sounds like a lovely car, so good luck with the sale! :)

Oh ok! I was curious. I normally see them the other way around. But I don’t see those old rovers everyday and certainly not under the bonnet.

coils are always upside down on these, the HT lead would hit the bonnet if it was the other way up.

It looks a really lovely car John, and I'm very sorry you feel the need to sell, but you are listing it under Rover 200 so may not get quite the amount of interest it deserves ....

hi phil,
I remember spotting trains as a boy, steam trains that is....
standing at a local bridge , looking up the train number as it chuffed on by, loved the smell of the smoke and steam.
If in the car , we all had "I spy books", a small book about 4 inches square with things to spot on a journey, these days its an iPod, or a phone.
How things change?
Peter
Anorak= Parker...

Nope
Anoraks wear Anoraks, Mods wear Parka's

"when I was a boy", the local youth were divided into groups, Mods and Rockers.
Mods rode Vespa's and lambrettors, the Rockers ....motor bikes.
I had a motor bike to be able to go to work and was not interested in either of the two groups that reguarly had fights and generally misbehaved in the town, as for Anoraks, probably rode granny's push bike? o_O

When I made the original post in this stream I really wouldn't have expected it to meander across to Mods & Rockers!
Ah well, Happy Days - in 1964/65 I had a Norton 88 with twin Amal carbs. (and a black crash hat with a yellow scorpion on the front )
Come to think of it, that was probably as over-carburetted as a 2000TC on a pair of 2" SUs.

Well now that we are completely off the original subject, in the middle 60's , I owned first a BSA Bantam 125, then a red BSA C15, but lusted for a Vincent Black shadow, but
never attained that wish ...sighhh
