    Heat always on

Excellent advice, thank you! I won't get to check it out now for a couple of weekends, but will post back when I get to.

    Heat always on

Ah, excellent. I will do that. I had not gotten so far as to realize the linkage was visible in the engine bay. Thanks

    Heat always on

I have just started to research possible causes for this issue, but thought I'd post here as well in case someone has a quick answer. I did search but didn't see any threads that looked like a clear match. I understand that the heater box is running all the time in the P6 normally, however, I...

    Engine mounts (4-cyl)

I’ve got a question here. I saw near the beginning of this thread that it was mentioned that putting the mount brackets on the wrong side of the car can result in it being near impossible to get the air box off. This is the situation for my air box. Is this also possible if the LH mount is kaput?

    What the heck is this?

Thank you! Good thing it doesn’t matter which shoulder because I didn’t keep track

    What the heck is this?

I took the carb off my '66 2000SC today because I was replacing the exhaust manifold, which had cracked and was leaking. I found an odd thing inside the intake. Is this normal? It seems like it might be there to provide a smooth transition from the carb to the main manifold. But it was...

    That would be much appreciated!

    P6 SC exhaust manifold

I've been totally unable to find one. Anyone have a lead to someone who has a parts car and would be willing to help?

    P6 SC exhaust manifold

Mine is cracked and needs replacement. I'm in Dublin but happy to pay shipping. If you have one in good condition, hit me up. Thanks!

Need to replace exhaust manifold. Anything I should know?

Excellent, thank you. Yes, the brass nuts are a very good idea. I will see if I can drum up a set to fit. Thanks! Karl

Need to replace exhaust manifold. Anything I should know?

I have the service manual, so the procedure seems straightforward enough. But I'm wondering if there are any known gotchas in this job, or anything I should prepare ahead of time that is not in the manual. I will order all the gaskets and seals that I'm likely to come across in the job and...

@Vern Klukas Do the TC and SC share the same camshaft?

    Modern vs Classic Tyres

    Thanks for the help!

    Modern vs Classic Tyres

OK, supposedly 185 width tyres fit 5in rims. BUT, do they clear the rear upper links? Anyone know? In any case I'd probably go for 165s anyway.

    Modern vs Classic Tyres

My 1966 P6 has some pretty old and cracked tyres on it and I'd like to get some new rubber on there ASAP. I really like how the steering handles with the classic Dunlop radials (165SR14) that are on there, despite the condition of the rubber. Replacements of similar design and tread are pretty...

    Is my fuel pump bad?

Verdict is in! It was the fuel pump. Having rebuilt it and re-installed it, the car is transformed. I wanted to take the pump apart to try to verify if that was the problem anyway, so I ordered the top-side rebuild kit from Agri-Parts for £12.95 on eBay for the David Brown 990 on Monday and it...

Thank you! I had found the other thread about that as well. There is company in Ireland stocking them as well. Super good info.

    Is my fuel pump bad?

I'm missing something. Is that a Fawlty Towers joke? Anyway, my profile says where I live, so that's how @Chalky knew. I live in Dublin but I'm American.

    Is my fuel pump bad?

Thanks everyone, I'll do some further investigation. It's definitely a fuel issue, not spark, as I can see the air in the pump and the clear filter sometimes is almost empty. Now that I understand things a little better I'll switch to the reserve intake as @j_radcliffe suggested and see if that...

    Is my fuel pump bad?

Thanks for the response! By other fuel line, do you mean switching the reserve valve? I haven't tried that, I will give it a shot. It takes some driving for this condition to happen because the car needs to get pretty warm. I didn't realize it would leak fuel into the oil system if the...

    Is my fuel pump bad?

Hi all, I've just gotten my car last week ('66 SC with a 2200 motor) and have driven it a few times. It runs absolutely fine when cold, but after the car has heated up for awhile it will start cutting out, especially under load. I have now established that when this happens, I can see lots of...

    Which headrests are these?

Thanks, Chris! I didn't know it was that rare, but good to know. I like this color quite a bit even though it wouldn't probably have been the color I would have sought out on my own. Interesting about the sunroof. I think only Webasto still makes this kind of roof and I'm fairly certain this is...
