Some seem to have made it unscathed and other not , I suppose it would be back to machine shop , my original heads never had seals but I’ve fitted the later sd1 heads , didn’t these have some flimsy rubber washer on the inlet valve only? Should I be worried about the lack of a stem seal?
Hi sorry to drag this thread back up , I’ve fitted the valve guides with the modern style stem seals a kit supplied by v8 tuner , I have done around 100 miles since my rebuild and while searching for a noise took the nearside rocker cover off to find just over half the seals have split or torn ...
It looks like they lubricate the bore as the oil journals line up with the hole in the rod ..... but I’ve not been able to find a choice for they all seem to listed as the same

Hi all it appears my block is too worn and requires a re bore ..... can I use 9.75 pistons over sized .020 .... with my 10.5 block crank and rods?? Or do I need a block crank rods the lot ?
im fitting sd1 heads with the machines valve guides ect .... I would like to use my original block but...
It’s this stuff .... a lad from work recommended them (jap car nut) sent me the link , he said they are race car folk ..... but looking at their website it looks like they just sell trick bits for Hondas and stuff ..... I’ll see what turns up wether it’s any good is an other matter

I’ve got a problem with my mechanical pump getting hot when idling in traffic ect .... when this happens the filter is empty and the carb bowls very low more so the offside carb , if I cool the pump by pouring water onto it it will start and run fine.I see vapour lock issues have been done to...

I have put a thick washer between the cable and the gearbox and used the original 4 speed clamp at the moment ....but wanted a more permanent solution , which flange did you enlarge?

Finally went for a drive in the 5 speed today very impressed with how it’s transformed the drive , very smooth .... I need to get a speedo cable made up from speedy cables and then get my speedo head recalibrated....
does anyone know what fixings are used on the cable ends ..... is the head...

hi does anyone know how the two parts of the girling front caliper seals ? I’ve looked in my old book but it doesn’t list a seal for the caliper body , it looks like I have a very small leak from the joint. Wanted to buy a comprehensive rebuild kit before I completely strip them down
