What an interesting solution.
I already found a decent gearbox, or to be precise i hope it is.
Engine and gearbox (LT77) is already in the car, but i did not start or even drive it since then.
I hope the box copes with the brute power of my 4.8 ;-)
Dear guys,
i had a lot of thinking on "stacking" sandwichplates and so on. The more I thought about it, the more i doubt it works.
I wasn't able to create a "serial" flow from the pump trough the oil filter and oil cooler if hot, or trough oil filter and back...
I couldn't see the forest for...
I knew I read about someone installing a oilcooler but i couldn't find the thread yesterday.
Know I remember it was you.
I have used the P6 Front cover.
Thanks, i will have a call there.
BTW:
If i want to use a Oil cooler on the P6 like this one:
V8 Oil Cooler Kit - RB7260 | Rimmer Bros
The space for the oil filter is even less than now.
If i get it right this would require a remote oil filter too.
Is it possible to combine both adapters?
or...
It was maybe a little less.

This is the desired object:
I had a look at my carbs, only one of my carbs has a similar connection. But no problem to drill and insert a jet there.
With keeping the revs down I meant the torqe curve should be in...
Thanks for taking the photos.
Now I understand.
Amazing solution.
Don't you use some pressure (pump) to inject the fuel, or is it working because of the sucktion?
Have you thought of constantly keeping a small fuel flow into to carbs via your jets to sort of enrich the mixture?
BTW, i found a...
I found some more information on the manifolds.
BTW: RoverAlex used the same manifold as I did in his P6 race car.
Here you can clearly see the difference in tower heights:

@harveyp6
Thanks, I have'nt thought about that!
The gearbox mount is not made yet, i just lift the whole engine/gearbox in and screwed a plate at the end of the gearbox to prevent it falling out. But that is too high, for sure.
I had a look and it needs to get lower.
The tunnel narrows in...
@unstable load
Thank's for your hints.
I had a look at some pictures from other threads. Unfortunately Photobucket has some troubles showing the pictures.
I really need to save and download some of the pictures i need.
I will try with a hydraulic lift.
As i saw on some pictures the speedo...
Thanks, @cobraboy for the links to the prop shaft spacer.
The speedo looks nice, but it is not the way I want to go.
When I tried the 3.5 manifold on my new block and heads (i used a composite gasket to lower compression) I noticed it could "sit" a little lower.
But I managed to screw it down...
Dear community,
After some trouble at work, the P6 had to wait for its conversion until a few weeks ago.
Because my last threads are a few months old, I give a quick sum up what is going to be installed:
The short block is a 4.8 (i measured with a calliper)
The heads are standard 4.6 with...
"What are the shiny 'S' shaped things"
;) Nothing car related. It's a chrome candle holder. I have a very very understanding wife, and she allowed me to rebuild the carbs and the intake manifold on the table of our dining room :p
Dear community,
I am in need of a LT77 Gearlever.
I bought a box, it came with remote and all the parts but unfortunatly without gearlever.
If possible i would like to have one which i later can modify to take the original P6 manual sleeve and knob to optically "hide" the 5 speed conversion...
Thanks, Richard for the description.
@colnerov
Thanks. Yes, I know. A lot of guys in this forum sent the speedo to Speedy Cables | Speedometers, Tachometers, Gauge Repair, Cables
I have two complete dashboards, so I could still use one while the other is for calibration ;)
Thanks harvey.
I was wondering because Rimmerbros only sells SD1 cables for RHD.
On this pdf: http://www.roverp6.info/5gang.pdf it says i need a flywheel spigot bush UKC5676. What is that?
I should have all parts then... :)
Which speedo cable to you guys prefer to use to link the LT77 to the Series 2 Speedo?
BTW: My gearbox is ready to ship to Austria now :)
I read once that I can't use the original 4 speed one...
Does RimmerBros offer the right one? I would like to buy it together with the clutch kit to save...
Now i understand.
I had a detailed look on them the last days. You could change one from left to right, but it is not easy.
Most of the holes for the bolts are already there, but i would need to cut new threads (and i only have metric cutters.)
You can't flip the levers. I would need to buy...
@ratwing
Please excuse my late answer.
Thanks for this video of alex's car. I never watched it in detail, and it shows some interesting details.
@cobraboy made a good picture of his linkage.
I did not realise that the HS8 open counterclockwise, while the HIF open clockwise. So i have to make a...
