That's always the case isnt it, the smallet jobs are always the most difficult. When I next have to door apart probably when I look at making my own replacement door cards I will get them sorted. Thanls for all your help
The chrome door lock covers on the front doors which rotate out of the way to reveal the key lock are very loose on my car they rattle about. What is it that should keep them tight and flush with the main body of the lock. Any one know a fix
When I've been bord and started messing about in ebay I've seen rover efi set ups come up for sale and wondered about fitting one to my 3500S (it already has sd1 heads). I guess it's not an easy upgrade or everyone would do it but how in depth a job is it an what would you need. Or is it just...
Can you still get folding style sunroofs fitted. Always fancied getting one fitted to my 3500S. I know the big maker back in the day was Webasto but can't find anyone that still supplies/fits them. I keep looking out for a second hand one but they don't come round very often from what I can see.
Yes the light does come on. I have also had the oil pressure light on in very hit weather stuck in traffic at low idle very occasionally so I think and hope the engine is ok and it is a sender problem.
I've always had low oil presure on my gauge on my p6 3500S. As in zero when stationary after its warmed up. The oil light never comes on and I had a compression test and all is good so I am told the oil presure sender units are temperamental with age. Is it the oil presure sender unit that is...
Thanks so much for that. I think that will be a job for when I take the car off the road for the winter. Aymt the moment I've only had the car 2 months and using it as daily transport can't bring myself to lay her up yet
Had a good look at the gearbox today the leak is certainly from the rear of the box either the out put shaft or the gasket near to the rear. It could be the output shaft area as there is oil all over suggesting it's getting spun around. Harveyp6 you mentioned this could be done with the gear...
Thanks for the advice. I'm sorry to be so simple but any clues to identity the rear flange and the nut on the end shaft? I will try to have a look this weekend
I looked at my parts manual and i think there is only one angle drive on the back of the head on the manual box though Im happy to be corrected. I did wonder if they went but at £40 odd I didn't want to just buy one and waste my money if it was something else
I have an unusual issue with my seepometer in that it generally under reads by quite a bit but if you stick to the same speed for a short bit then the creeps up to what seems more accurate. Strange part is that if you dip the clutch it drops again. If you blip the accelerator with the car in...
Is the manual gearbox on the 3500S prone to leaking. I seem to have one. I've had a look but can't seem to work out where it's coming from. I can see where it's been dripping onto the exhaust. Wonder if there is a place that they do leak or a gasket that might need renewing
This might seem a bit silke but if I'm checking the breather system is all clear what items in the engine should I be checking and looking at sorry I'm not familiar with this engine at all so be gentle
Has anyone replaced this with the engine in situ? Mine leaks and I read in the original workshop manual that this can be replaced without a complete strip down but I think back in the day they used a special tool. Just wondered if it was do'able and any tips for the job.
I need to replace the brake light switch but I'm struggling to find it. Sure that sounds stupid but I assumed that it would be around the pedal box but I can't see it. Also when I do replace it will I need to re bleed the brakes after or iis it just Purley in the electrical part and not part of...
Anyone have the above for sale I'm in sheffield. So happy to collect from anyone local.
Just in the process of replacing my carpet set. When I have come to remove the plastic centre console all the plastic areas where it fixes to the tunnel are broken. As are the studs the retain the gear...
