It was a real close thing whether I chose a P6 or a Rover SDI V8. In the end I thought the P6 had more allure and was a more dignified and interesting car. The build quality reports of the SDI worried me - partucularly the one going around that one side is longer than the other. I can't see how...

Can it drive onto a car trailer? Not really a problem if it does not as I have an electric winch. Id like more detailed pictures please - id be more concerned with the bodywork and originality than mechanical issues. I have pm'd you my email. Based in southern Ireland.

The car does drain the battery if I leave it connected so I always have to disconnect the negative lead whenever it is being stored. Its a common feature with old cars and tracing the cause of the leak is like looking for a needle in a haystack so I don't even bother.

Ironically shortly after posting this thread I went to the Rover and it started first turn after not being driven for the last three or four days. We have had a bit of a heat wave here (in Ireland) for the past few days. Might be temperature related?

The P6 was a top of the range luxury car in its day so I would expect the same today. Its most comparable equivalent today would be the BMW 7 series so I would want all the goodies that the beemer has.

Not that I have any intention of putting the spare on top of the boot lid I was just wondering does this place too much strain of the boot hinges and lock mechanism. That spare wheel is mighty heavy and on casual examination the hinges or lock do not seem to be beefed up to take any extra...

When I took the plugs off my P6 just now they were NGK BP6HS and as per above post had ordered NGK BP5HS - just wondering is it ok. The Rover was driving fine with the NGK 6HS plugs.
