    Rostyle wheel size issues

Thanks chaps. The seller of the 14" Rostyles has weighed one, he says 8kgs too. Seems the 18kg mentioned above is an error.

    Rostyle wheel size issues

Are the 14" Rostyles really 19kgs? That seems huge! I'm trying to arrange to courier a set of 4 from Belgium to UK so need to know the weight. What do the standard rims weigh? I have a set of 14" Wolfrace slot mags, maybe I should use those.

    Alternator Regulator?

I think your alternator is failing.

Rover with wire wheels in the Northern Territory

Acksherly, I was just reading this again and I think wires on a 3500 is ok assuming they are 4 pot wires and mounted with 165 section tyres, then the max torque that can be transmitted through them is controlled by tyre grip rather than engine potential.

Indeed, getting the 'just right' makes a huge difference.

    Towbar and Wolfies.

I still need a towbar. A set of Woolfies or 14" Rostyles for Christmas!

    Estoura S1 V8.

I fitted all new flame trap hoses and crankcase breather and the airbox with new filters tonight. Great! Not so great, coolant leak persists and I've lost the 18ACR alternator bracket. Argh!

    OCC 469 - restoring & running a "sharkstooth" 2000

Lovely. So reminds me of my first P6. The purity of the early cars is fab.

    Hot wire to ignition coil

I dont quite follow, but I'm sure if the car is switched off there should be 0v at the coil.

    In my defense...

Nice. I was left unattended with internet access and a debit card, I ended up with a Silver Shadow, an Estoura, a Mk2 Jag and a Morris Minor!

    OCC 469 - restoring & running a "sharkstooth" 2000

Is that city grey? My first P6 was that colour, ULD933F, a 2000 TC, I painted some panels, I was just 18 years old, did it outside, result were appalling, but it got me about.

I wish it looked that good under my bonnet.

    Estoura S1 V8.

I'm getting there. I now have all the bits to upgrade to an ACR alternator. Its running, still have a coolant leak but I think I can see it. I have driven it short distances, seems to go very well. Rain is colecting in the footwells, clearly needs sorting.

is the big bore later exhaust a worthwile upgrade?

My S1 V8 1970 auto needs a new exhaust, if I understand correctly I might as well go for the 3500S system. The slightly larger bore will leave me in a good place if I ever get round to a 3.9 or 4.6. I'm going to ask a local garage to install it, presumably its a simple swap? Straight forward...

    XJ40 Autobox conversion

I'd like to think that somewhere in the future of my Estoura is a 4.6 running efi, with a ZF box and a 2200 diff. I understand that to fit the 4.6 means changing the front of the engine to an earlier style, I'm less clear if this causes a problem with maybe crank reference sensor placement...

    White Estoura

I understand there's only a handful on the road. Mine should be running shortly.

    Rubber component feedback

30 years ago when I had my first P6 I bought a set of weather strips that go along the door touching the glass from the P6 club (no idea which of the two P6 clubs, I'm confused about that) and they were not very good at all. It seems to me now that repro parts are much improved.
