Car is still available. Dont want to end up putting it on ebay but im getting close to that. would really like to see it go to someone from the club. Happy to come down to a good price just to see it go to a decent home...
Hi,
for sale is my 1976 2200TC in richelieu red.
It has 54k miles on the clock and has an immaculate black cloth interior.
Will be honest and say it is not running too well at the moment, however it would not take a competent/experienced home mechanic too much work to get it running as it...
When I bought my 1976 2200tc it came with lots of books and manuals. Amongst these was an original rover 2000 workshop manual. Written on the inside cover are a chassis no and an engine no. Inside there was also the original receipt for the manual, dated 9th Jan 1967 provided by James Gibbon...
Hi everyone,
car isnt running too well at the minute. Dont think its anything too fatal however before troubleshooting/trying to fix anything id like to get it set up to the correct 'baseline'.
Would you guys be able to give me the correct settings for the things below for a 1976 2200TC...
Guys, apologies for asking probably a well covered question however I need some advice.
Ive been lucky enough to have never had to change a tyre. However knowing the jacking points are considered weak on the P6 I bought a trolley jack so I could lift the car from underneath.
Where then are...
Yeah anything you can send on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Im keen to solve this issue as a lot of good work was done on the car earlier this year and if I can get this power problem resolved I reckon I'll have a pretty sorted car.

hey steve. cheers for the advice re the valve clearances. i'll give it a go. i'm not tech savvy at all to be honest but keen to pick up little bits n pieces of knowledge/experience when i can.
craig.
Brilliant mate. This is what I get for joining in a thread thats discussing an issue im experiencing? I thought we were a community of owners here, helping each other with advice?
I didnt ask for anyone to solve the problem. If youre looking for an argument, look somewhere else.
Whoah hang on. He's very experienced in P6's having worked on them when they were used by the Police. Perhaps im not explaining what he wants to do properly.
I explained why he hasnt done it yet. There was a raft of other critical work that needed done and I simply didnt have the budget for him...
He hasnt checked any of that yet. He did a huge raft of work earlier in the summer but just couldnt get to that within the time/budget contraints. But he identified the lack of power and we discussed the next steps in terms of work required. He wants to get the cylinder head off and check...
Im experiencing the very same issue right now. The guy who has been servicing my car recently wants to get the head off and look at the valves. He has also suggested changing the carbs for the bigger ones from the 2000TC (mines is a 2200TC).
However, the idea that it might be fuel related is...
the issue ive had is that the end of the king lead which plugs into the distributor cap has basically come apart. the lead itself came away completely from the 'cap' and when i pulled the cap off, the little metal part was still inserted in the dist cap. so im assuming this cannot possibly be...
Harder to track down than I thought. Ive got a car factor at end of my street and he didnt even have any. Went for the ones on Mark Gray's site. Only concern is the ends which attach to the plugs look totally different to the ends of the lucas leads I currently have. Although Im hopeful its only...
Hi everyone,
as the title suggest, im looking for recommendations for new HT leads for my 2200TC. I noticed the inside part of the king lead which connects to the distributor cap is very worn (looks like a little burned out wire??) so Im going to put a full new set on.
Can see Mark Gray has a...
So, there doesnt seem to be any sign of overheating/melting. Strangely though the other day I had the car out and both wipers and blower were still not working, I touched both fuses and even turned them a little and both things fired into life. A short time later they packed in again and this...
Cheers guys.
No sign (or smell) of any melting but I'll take a proper look as Im nervous about this now. Might just book it into the workshop and get the fusebox replaced.
Hi everyone,
over the last year I have been experiencing intermittent failures of several 12v windscreen washer pumps. Ive now started to get failures of both the wipers themselves and the heater/blower. This is making me think there has been a deeper electrical fault at play the whole time and...
Hey everyone,
anyone driven their P6 on any sections of this? Looks incredible and now mine is a tad more reliable :) I might venture up.
