I think I would look at the date marks on the tyres possibly look to change them before using the car on the road propely as in the time I've known the car it has been stationary in the one spot, you may need to adjust the steering box or add oil this may help with the feel of the steering weight.

I'm with Peter James, seventy eight pounds a year unlimited mileage private use with the usual benefits don't personally know if they do wedding hire etc but worth a try they are the cheapest insurance company I have ever come across..
