    NADA 3500S Anyone? (Not mine!)

My 1970 NADA TC had reflectors and sidemarkers, the sidemarkers are the same as the P5.

Oh, ok, that's a new one on me.

Rover P6 renewing project after 42 years barn live.

That fan is missing a blade and will be unbalanced. You need to remove the fan blade that doesn't have an opposing partner, to bring it into balance. The fan works fine with just four blades, (or two pairs of blades). All my P6s only had four. (Or two pairs). But if you don't think it's enough...

    Getting back on the road

Coincidentally, in a recent comparison drive between the Ford Zephyr, Vauxhall Cresta, and Austin Westminster A110 i Classic And Sportscar Magazine, the instrument panel of the Austin looked very familiar. Even pre-BL it appears BMC shared more than a few parts...

    Gearbox options for 3500S

That certainly makes the six speed seem a better choice. The same installation but a stronger box with the extra ratio as well.

    Gearbox options for 3500S

If the Mazda 5 speed fits, does the six speed fit as well? They are also fitted to Toyota Attenzas/Lexus IS 250s. Or the six speed Getrag boxes fitted to Mercedes Benz C-Class diesels/BMW 3 series diesels? There are a lot of those around.

Rover P6 Design Review on Auto-didakt website

Yes and they made some in Malta, but that production, as in Australian, New Zealand, and South Africa was because those markets had stringent import restrictions to encourage local production and the parts all came from Solihull, as you say. Does anyone out there know anyone who owned a 2000S...

Rover P6 Design Review on Auto-didakt website

I was never aware that four cylinder P6s had power steering, or different gear ratios, and I could never understand why overdrive was never offered. But the P6 was a victim of it's own success wasn't it? Why bring in changes when you're selling all you can make? What would have happened if it...

What were the other 2000S differences? I heard they had stiffer suspension. Were there any other interior or gearbox or engine differences?

Thanks Michael, that makes sense. The 2000S is starting to seem like the ideal 2000 P6. How many were made? And are any left?

P6 commentaries on 'Driven To Write site.

If you've read Auto-didakt, another site tangentially connected to it, and very worth looking at is the excellent 'Driven To Write' which has a 'Marques' section. One of the marques covered, of the very many, is Rover, with some articles covering the P6 and it's design. The world’s Oddest Head...

    Toyota 22R Engine conversion

It might be easier and cheaper to do a fuel injection conversion on a TC motor. I like the idea of a six speed Miata manual gearbox though.

    Leyland 4.4 VS Rover 3.5

Not all of them were crushed, there are 10 left out in the wild. Eight were auctioned off and the other 44 made were crushed. It probably wouldn't have happened if Leyland Australia hadn't gone bust. The receiver wanted to get as much money for any remaining assets as they could and wasn't...

    Leyland 4.4 VS Rover 3.5

It's very easy to make a 5 litre V8 out of a P76 V8, certainly in Australia anyway, just bore out the block to take Holden 'XU1' 'red six' pistons and fit them to the existing gudgeon pins on the stock bottom end. Making a 5.0 litre motor is, in essence why the 17mm taller deck P76/Terrier V8...

Rostyle Wheels From a Rover P5b

Yes, but don't forget you'll need to fit a lower profile tyre to bring the completed wheel/tyre diameter to the same as the original 2000TC 14 inch wheel + 165/80 tyre size overall diameter. A 205/65/15, 195/65/15 or 205/60/15 will work out fine depending on the brand of tyre.

    Improved performance - 2000tc

I am in NZ. My first (1969) 2000TC had 'export spec' 9.0:1 pistons, my later NADA TC was 10:1 and noticeably faster if running on 100 octane, which was hard to get.

    Improved performance - 2000tc

The high horsepower early 2000TCs had 10:1 compression pistons. Since the combustion chamber in Heron head designs is formed by the piston you'd have to get a larger 2200 bore piston with the high compression shape. These aren't and never have been available and custom making/machining them is...
