Thanks for reply no such thing as a silly question! As far as I know lamps are ok but car has been off the road 24 years I'm just not sure the switch is wired correctly or working correctly will check lamps later .....

Hi Colin thanks for getting back to me so quickly, in a round about way I think I've done what you have gone through but will follow your advice step by step the only green purple wire appeared to light up the full beam on the dash when it did work will let you know what happens next.

Thanks Colin it's a series 1 it only has one one flasher unit as far as I can tell. I unplugged the connectors from the handbrake and the beam indicator stops flashing! I'm going to get a hazard unit from eBay and hopefully it will include the standard flasher unit I've got the standard wiring...

Hi Colin yes bulbs connect short of dis-connecting it all and starting again it's driving me mad! did get it to work briefly but must be a #n earth issue, but they all seem to be earthed I earthed each flasher separately and it seem to work as soon as I put both to earth the flasher worked...

Thanks I've earthed both of the indicators and when you indicate right its fine, but when you indicate left they both flash, I've got a double earththat looks like it goes to the back of the strip but when I attach that the centre beam indactor takes of flashers and blinks , must be an earth...
