An interesting looking project near Bristol

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1973-ROVER-20 ... SwaA5WlgpC Not listed in the cars for sale section, Appears to be at a breakers yard in Devizes. Looking past the state of the outside, the panels don't actually look too bad to me, it appears to have proper electronic ignition (lumenition), kenlowe...

    Low mileage 2200 in Leicester

Spotted this on ebay. It looks as though it could be very nice, and in my opinion is very cheap for what it seems to be. Listed in the books section so noone else appears to have found it... Number plate I have worked out to be 132. Just outside Leicester - I would offer to view it for people...

At first I thought you meant chassis plates (and wondered what on earth was going on)... But if you mean numberplates, I have to agree, I don't think I've seen one either.

    Sooty Plugs

I saw this, and thought - shouldn't that be BTDC? Ignition timing being that far retarded is bound to cause at least sluggishness.

    Help needed!

If this is an SC, do as Dave (Herts 2000) has said!!! There is a metal ring that separates from the carb spacer, and will rattle in the inlet manifold making the most awful noise, and it will break with the rattling and it will make its way into the engine!!! Pictures to show.

    2200TC will not start

I will have to come and see Chatterbox again when she's on the road. I'm glad you got her running well, she was always a bit slow to start - I fail to remember, has she had a new bottom end?

    series 1 v8 for sale

I guess the strombergs could have been fitted as part of the conversion to manual choke - the AED carburettors are different bodied HS6's and need replacing in this conversion.

    Wanted 2000c cylinder head

Hi, I have a 2000SC cylinder head, all the valves have been removed and the guides seem to be good (comes with them and a camshaft if you want). It needs skimming, and I have found that some of the exhaust threads have been repaired with helicoils, but otherwise none of the seats have been...

Does Anybody Really Pay These Prices?

I helped the seller see that car, before he bought it, and strongly advised him against doing so - the bulkhead is rotten and has previously been repaired, the advertiser said it ran and when we got there we were told 'well it ran a year ago'... All I can say is that he's in profit of more than...

    P6 Teardrop headrests.

It currently says 'tan vinyl' in the description, I guess it's been edited. They look vinyl to me, and those are bronze, not tan.

Does Anybody Really Pay These Prices?

Being a student, I'm not the richest of people, and I currently use a P6 as a daily driver. But I have to disagree that £90 for a NOS or excellent wing is unreasonable. Compare NOS/heritage wings for Morris minors and MGB's and other more common classics... £220, £495 respectively. In which...

    OCC 469 - restoring & running a "sharkstooth" 2000

Something else about the early vents is that they open 3 'clicks' rather than just 2 - the later ones don't open as far. Regarding the light, it could be the switch. On mine, I couldn't get either to work, then out of the blue I got in the car one morning and found the passenger one was on...

    A New High for Winguards?

I'm quite sure that chinese copies have been made, and from what I've read they barely last a year. To echo what Pilkie said on facebook, the real deal are good quality that actually last, and as a result the demand is there, so the prices are high. You're better off with a slightly scruffy pair.

    Hello from Brentwood Essex

Hi, welcome to the forum, nice to have another Essex owner here :) I'd just say lubricate all the throttle links and cable, maybe add an extra return spring too.

    1972 2000sc

Absolutely gorgeous!! Several years ago there was a similar car in red, similar mileage, same year, same interior, but the number plate was something like OAT454. Listed at £8000, I don't know how much it sold for but a very similar car nonetheless.

    Introducing myself!

I've seen that car for sale before (couple of years ago maybe?) and I certainly have been tempted. I'd say you've got a good car there. As regards power steering, I haven't driven a power steer'd one, but have heard that they tend to wander on the motorway. Overall, I look forward to seeing your...

    Members ages

When I first joined, I was the youngest (14 with one, then two p6's), but in that time I've grown older and new younger members have joined. There is at least one other person than Joseph who's slightly younger than me, on this forum. I think Mr Wilson at 14 is the winner :) ...I ought to do...

I joined this forum when I was 14, I'm now 19. I know I haven't contributed much to the forum of late, but I sure have been reading it. I'm sure there are younger people on the forum than me, but I know that I was the youngest for a while when I first joined.

    What's next at Lake View

Unless the 2200 you broke didn't have its original fuel tank - mine has a larger tank than the 2000, interesting. Looking forward to hearing of Ethel's rise, and have enjoyed reading of the tales of Daffodil, Hildergarde and the Blue Mcfoo, it's better than a book, keep it up!!
