    Minilite options?

Hi, I've been reluctant to comment as our car (definitely more Gavins these days) sports Minilites but they are not a "normal" P6 size as our car is not standard, but I think they rather suit it. Thanks, Tim

good bye Wheeler dealers says Ed china!!!

I've watched the first 2 and they seem dare I say it mildly better than before, they seem to have toned down Mike and Ant seems pretty capable, maybe has some good support :) I for one will keep watching...... which is more than I can say for the last series which lost me completely.

Hi, We have Jag IRS suspension fitted, including the LSD. Tim

    Upgraded swaybar swap

Hi, Our version one bar looked very like your bar, sharp transitions, it lasted a couple of events before breaking. We do work our car pretty hard so draw your own conclusions but if it was me I'd remove it before it breaks and soften the transitions. Tim

    breaking axles

Hi, One of the main reasons we went Jag diff with ours, although we never actually had one fail. Tim

Anyone any experience with fosseway performence brakes?

Hi, With what we do with our car, when the brakes were standard, we often had to drive to the limit of the brakes, two things have changed this, use of Ferodo DS2500 pads on the front and the Jag conversion at the rear. The DS2500 pads are a proper Track/race pad and thus expensive compared to...

    GRP WINGS

Hi, I was looking for a good pic of the D post surgery but don't really have one to hand, this is the best I can do. We moved the lower fixing up as the bit of the D post it normally bolted to wasn't there anymore :) We thinned the lower corner of the door as well as that's the next bit that...

    GRP WINGS

Love the wings! We run 15x7 (205/65-15 tyres) under "almost" standard body work, some chopping around the inner part of the rear wings and bottom of the D pillar but the outer panel stays standard and where it normally is, it's very tight but as there is essentially no rubber in our rear...

    Clutch drag when hot

Hi, Might be worth trying some new brake/clutch fluid, old fluid can behave strangly to a bit of heat. Tim

Custom Anti Roll Bar- Cheap opportunity!

Hi, I think from memory they are UNF not UNC, we use capscrews, a little harder to fit but you do tend to get a better quality of screw. Tim

Custom Anti Roll Bar- Cheap opportunity!

Hi, I think the original objective of the post/thread has been met, which is great there are now a number of options for people to follow depending on their own situations/talents/budgets etc…. Access to cheap (free) machining (as well as 2 Peugeot ABRs in corner of garage from previous...

Custom Anti Roll Bar- Cheap opportunity!

Hi, We had no issues machining the 306 bar in the state that it was removed from the donor car in. We didn't do any post machining heat treatment, the bar was WELL tested and as long as it is well radiused it should be fine. Tim

Custom Anti Roll Bar- Cheap opportunity!

Hi, I was going to try and take a picture as I thought that was the case but couldn't specifically remember, I remember it being very well machined. It is a beast of a bar, it will make the car sit much flater in the corners, on an otherwise standard car I think it may well induce understeer...

Custom Anti Roll Bar- Cheap opportunity!

Hi Alex, Apologies, I was actually replying to a short lived post that suggested the car would oversteer after the bar was fitted, it seems to have been deleted. If the hex is machined offset all the extra width is away front the bulkhead etc.. so there should be no need for cutting the car...

Custom Anti Roll Bar- Cheap opportunity!

One of our bars definitely came out of a ZX 2.0L 16V, as it was my car and I only removed it to fit an even fatter one lol :) Peugeot ones do seem more common, plenty of 306 HDi's about. Tim

Custom Anti Roll Bar- Cheap opportunity!

Hi Jim, That's great news, good luck with the machining if we can help in any way let me know, it's obvious to us as we know what the bar is going to be used for but it may not be obvious to a machinist that the hex's at both ends need to be inline I've attached a couple of pics, one shows...

Custom Anti Roll Bar- Cheap opportunity!

Hi, I can only comment on the 2 bars I sourced, when came from a Citroën ZX 2.0 16V and one came from a 306HDi, they were both 24mm. Maybe the lesser models have a thinner bar, I really don't know. As I say they are very easy to remove so pulling a few out in a breakers to have a look wouldn't...

Custom Anti Roll Bar- Cheap opportunity!

Hi, The lack of taped holes is interesting, I always wonder if Alan was sorcing his material the same place as we did, the 306 bar is an inch or so too long from memory so when you cut it too length some of the threaded hole remains, doesn't cause an issue but it's a tell tale sign of where the...

Custom Anti Roll Bar- Cheap opportunity!

Hi, 24mm is a common 306 abr, by any chance is there an M8 (maybe M6) hole in either end of Alan's abr? We did off set the hex slightly on our bar, the machining is very straight forward. Tim

Custom Anti Roll Bar- Cheap opportunity!

Hi, Yes all the uprated bars I've seen are like that, round bar with a section of hex at both ends, this makes the torsion calcs a bit more complicated so the numbers quoted I have are a bit of a of a fudge as they ignore this unevenness in cross section. Don't panic too much about this as the...

Custom Anti Roll Bar- Cheap opportunity!

Hi Jim, I believe that's correct, you would be hard pushed to notice an increase to 19mm round section. Tim

Custom Anti Roll Bar- Cheap opportunity!

Hi, As Whiteline states the table only works for bars of the same shape, material etc.... standard bar is an 11/16" Hex (17.4mm across flats and 19.5mm across points) as such it behaves like an ~18.2mm round section bar. If you use 18.2mm in Whitelines table, you’ll need to interpolate the...

Custom Anti Roll Bar- Cheap opportunity!

Hi, I started to write a reply but then I had a quick look further back in the thread, I wrote this after testing the proposed 25.4mm (1”) bar, I think it's still valid: Hi, Firstly an apology for the length of time it’s taken to get to the point of reviewing this ABR, you make plans and...

Custom Anti Roll Bar- Cheap opportunity!

The cheapest way to do this is use the rear ABR from a Peugeot 306 (I believe models have various thickness's, we used one from a HDi, it was 24mm) and get someone to machine the hex into the ends, pictures of this simple process are available on our blog A new anti-roll bar.
