Hello JP938 I have a whole 3.9 set up sitting in the garage doing none too much. I originally wanted to fit it to my 71 V8 but I ended up modifying that with the view of taking it racing. Its sat on the shelf since then, in a perfect world, I'd just like what it owes me and you can take it...

    Another set of Racer Wings

@The Rovering Member , alas no, I don't own 806. I've just been working on a slow burn replica over the last few years. Have some Dunlop CR82 tires arriving tomorrow so they should fill out the arches nicely, so some photos will be taken then. 806 is actually for sale but it's been heavily...

    Another set of Racer Wings

@mrtask long ago, before the days of the cross bolting, this 4 bolt main cap arrangement was the way of bracing up the mains. This will, in turn, be girdled also to stiffen up the rear end. I suppose if I charge enough I could make a comfortable living off wide boided arches and pub car park...

    Another set of Racer Wings

Running a 2.88:1 Powerlok out of a Series 3(?) XJS. That'll be turned over be a Leyland McCormack F5000 donk Wings, undecided. I'd happily make them for those serious about taking them racing. No such much form the twat thats taking it to the pub car park...

    Another set of Racer Wings

Haven't done much of an update of this so here's some photos, or.. 'el photo-io' as they say in Spanishland. The eagle eyes amongst you will, in fact notice, they are a genuine set of racer wings, from 806.

Your build is certainly nice. I've been following it with interest. Ive been mocking up something similar at the back of the garage.

So male patterns, female mold templates back to male wings?

    Another set of Racer Wings

Oh, its a huge amount of work, especially when looking to get the finished surface for painting. Did you end up using the steel wings as a base with eh flairs fitted?

    Another set of Racer Wings

So been chipping away at these for a while, firstly templates of a set of original wings, then a set of moulds taken in the female off the templates, then a set of final wings taken off them. I do, however, now that I have templates and moulds, habe the ability to make multiple sets.

    BW35 Valve Body interchangability.

So sump was off today. Found the front servo release pipe to be in the sump when sump was removed today . Looking at the WM, I find the 2 to 3 valve has a feed to front servo release pressure from the servo release pipe. I assume this being disconnected or lose would result in a delayed or none...

    BW35 Valve Body interchangability.

I'll have a look again this evening. Interestingly enough, this is the valve body that was fitted to the 303 that originally lost reverse way back at the start of the post. I'll have a look at the supply pipe. I found that when I would build the revs up car would engage into reverse but felt...

    BW35 Valve Body interchangability.

Back on this car today and I've fitted the Valve block that was without slip. I now seem to have lost third I don't have reverse. I believe this is the rear servo? but any ideas welcome. Any idea what might have happened here? I might add it now pulls like a train in first and second. Fraser

    BW35 Valve Body interchangability.

I can now actually revise that statement. When cold, the box behaves as you'd expect. When hot, however, it starts to jump out of all gears and once up to speed doesn't really engage drive often. When at idle at the traffic lights, you can feel the car engaging drive then disengaging, then...

There is definitely slip in first. It that a loose pipe or dodge servo?

    BW35 Valve Body interchangability.

Update on this. I changed over the Governor and manage to regain 3rd gear. I decided, however, to go back and fit a self adjusting servo and the original valve block with relative kickdown cam assembly and cable. There were a few details that differed from the workshop manual, firstly, the...

    BW35 Valve Body interchangability.

The valve body came out of a 303 box from a UK built car. The 7FU box which is currently fitted, was originally in the car in question which is a 1970 3500. the only thing I've noticed is its a bit of a sharper change on the 1/2 and reverse is a bit if a thud.

    BW35 Valve Body interchangability.

Well, I've managed to replace the governor and snorkel type filter... I then took it out for a spin. For the most part it runs very well, but the 303 Valve body with 7FU internals have made for some odd shift speeds. The box seems to want to jump into third fairly quickly while cold, then when...

    BW35 Valve Body interchangability.

Probably correct. There are a few things in the WM that suggest they are throw items that ultimately aren't now in 2019

    BW35 Valve Body interchangability.

Surely I just put the know to be working governor in instead? Though it is the latter, non rebuild able type most likely.

I guess I'll be back under it on sunday to give the governor a tap then?
