    Easily distracted!

Those hub caps really bind solid to wheels Mike, no chance they will rotate, they are pretty hard to get off and on. I sprayed the wheels black, was very pleased, then put the caps back on, completely undoing my work. Ho him, can't see it, better tight fit given what happened to you.

Found this in phone. Same colour as seats......I plan eventually to have a beige vinyl roof and side panels, but that's some way off due to parts finances being spent on rear brakes at the moment. So the hub caps are a more economic first steps to achieving '40 shades of brown'

    Easily distracted!

The Fiat is a modern, 2013, but has been a cracking car. Never breaks down, only stuff had to do has been a little paint touch up and consumables such as brakes, along with yearly service. Has been a real surprise for us. I'll put a sideways picture up when I'm home at weekend or next week

    Easily distracted!

Hi, I just used masking tape and 'rounded the angles' as best could with my thumbnail, accepting over spray, and then cleaning over spray off with very fine wire wool. There's probably a better way, but this worked well enough.

    Front bonnet rubber bumps

Yep, mine had turned into what looked like unpleasant fruit pastilles, also replaced as above.

    Heater Box seals

I checked in garage. The adhesive I used was locktite 660, meant for bearings I believe. Very strong stuff, but only solidifies in absence of oxygen, so excess can be wiped off next day, leaves a bond where splines used to be. Worked well in this case.

    Heater Box seals

I glued mine with anaerobic cure locktite. That's over a year ago, still fine.

    Replacement Leather seat covers

Looks really nice with the red piping, and a good job done. You'll be seeing the 'bubbles' because you have been staring at them, give it a few weeks, and the covers will have settled and you'll have forgotten them. The covers seem nice quality as you say.

    Replacement Leather seat covers

Red piping looks good from here, seems like a good deal all round, will be smart in red car. You will know this already, but just in case, if the covers are nice and tight to get over the foam, and this causes the foam to move a bit, I usually wrap the foam in cling film first, that lets the...

    Roof vinyl considerations

Cheers for the answers, and for the link. Off to look at now . And to answer your question, I'm in Scotland. So summers are rarely above 20C, and often below with rain :). I'd only benefit from the heat!

    Roof vinyl considerations

I'm at the speculation stage of a project, to install vinyl on the roof of my Rover 2200. I'd probably get a professional to do this, as whilst I could do myself, if I saw a flaw I'd see it every time. I did a Ford many years ago, and whilst presentable, I was never totally happy with my work...

    P6B S Project Car

I'm thinking that most clocks are overdue servicing may be the issue with mine. Runs slow, very slow. I've been playing with old clocks and pocket watches for a longish time (less so, well, not at all now die to eyesight, patience and ironically, lack of spare time). The original oil they...

Done, and only cut myself once (the plastic of them centre console has sharp edges!). 20 quid mp3 player with 128 GB sd card in to hold whole library of music in car, nothing seen. I took a short video with sound but I'm not able to upload video files unfortunately. So, I'll have to...

I figured I should set up and test prior to car installation in case a total load of rubbish. So ran from cig lighter. Blimey it's powerful for a small thing! Tested with a pair of 40w pioneer car speakers, it's a bit too much for them, but at half volume on amp, half from phone, it's as loud...

That's the sort of output I want Peter, been using a wee rechargable Bluetooth speaker, but wanted more permanent as continually forget to charge. And enjoy playing about with stuff, I admit that's as much the reason as anything. Only bother with music on long drives. So I don't have a high...

Well, we will see. Reviews seem to indicate it's fine enough for cars, but yeah, reviews. They do returns, so worth a go I reckon. I'm not looking for anything more than what an old radio can put out (certainly not booming bass!). Will report back good or bad, and will hook up to test prior...

As regards the change from strip to round dials, I presume the previous owner did it. Ammeter works, so must have had shunt added. The chap was an electronics professional, so have to presume he did it right, the rest of his wiring was good standard though. I'd love to know why it was done...

    Brake Light Switch

Changed mine recently. Bought new one from Wins, fingers crossed, only been a month but no problems. I was very prepared for fluid loss, and so had the reservoir cap off, bottle fluid ready to top up, towels all around the switch, gingerly removed the old switch, popped in new switch, and...

Interesting, as my car has also been converted from strip to round dials (I think, as an sc car would have been strip apparently). So I may also have this post, I will look and see. What I am looking at in your picture is right hand footwell yeah, up under dash? Or am I disoriented! Sure...

Me again Peter. Having googled a bit, the shunt looks pretty involved to get to. Do you know if any more accessible battery live points up front? When you mentioned terminal post, what was that? Apologies, my issue us usually not knowing all the terminology so may well be staring at stuff...
