    Gloveboxes and door cards

Gloveboxes, door cards and pull handles. Beige colour (Buckskin?). Gloveboxes are generally ok but need a good clean and the door cards aren't great but may provide templates. V8 manual radiator. Poor condition but I kept it in case I needed an exchange item for a recore. There are other little...

    Wiper mechanism identification

Is this wiper mechanism off a P6? If so, what type? I got it in a box of (supposedly) P6 bits years ago. It's a standard Lucas motor and P6 type delay mechanism, but a rod linkage, not the usual push/pull cable. http://www.flickr.com/photos/65393546@N ... hotostream...

    Free - P6 bits

I'm going through my garage finding P6 bits I no longer need. I'll add to the list as I find stuff and remove from the list as/when things get taken. PM me if interested or you have questions. Collection from Yate near Bristol. All used parts unless stated. No guarantees offered. Preference...

    How much is it worth?

Due to various other commitments (mainly resto of my Mini) my P6 has been sat forlornly on the drive for 16 months since the gearbox started to play up; it had passed an MOT only a week or two before this happened. The box had been fitted with all new friction plates about 500 miles before, but...

BW65 - No reverse gear (or top!)

Since I rebuilt and refitted my BW65 box and tuned the V8 in January, it's been running beautifully. Bags of torque, kickdown working, smooth changes. But today... On the way to work this morning I noticed it was reluctant to change into top unless the throttle was fully released. Then it...

Rear gearbox mount - Alternative parts/suppliers

I need to replace the rear gearbox mount on my V8 Auto (BW65 box). As far as I remember it's only a couple of rubber/metal bushes, yet Wadhams want £35 + VAT/del for it! Does anyone know if they are common with other cars so I can shop around? Mike

    V8 throttle linkage

Having got the gearbox back in and the car running, I've had problems adjusting the throttle mechanism, because the link that joins the pushrod to the engine does not align. At the rear it is located in a rubber 'grommet' in a bracket fixed to the bodywork (actually (I think) the steering...

    V8 Auto - Strange Noises

After thinking to myself yesterday how well my V8 Auto has been running, today it decided to pull a trick. It started fine this morning, but within a mile I noticed a whining noise. I put this down to a damp alternator/steering pump belt, but by the time I got to work (8miles/30mins drive), it...

    V8 manifolds - downpipes won't fit

I fitted a complete exhaust system (from JRWadhams) about 2 1/2 years ago. I had problems getting the down pipes to meet the manifold but put it down to my haste to complete the job (carried out outside in -4 deg temperatures), and needing to get it back on the road ASAP I botched it with lots...

VIN/Chassis number - Rust is eating the VIN number!

The VIN number on my 1976 3500 is stamped into the offside inner wing. I have just found a rust hole about 25mm from it. Although I think I can weld a patch over it without touching the VIN number, what if I find the rust is more advanced and the VIN number crumbles away? Can I simply 'restamp'...

Cold V8 - lack of heat

In the recent cold weather my 1976 3500 auto has been like a fridge. On the daily drive to work (9 miles of A roads, minor roads and traffic jams) the temp gauge fails to get above 70degc. I've blanked part of the rad with a board, but this makes little difference. When it does get warm (eg the...
