mine is a simple cock with a 90°, on off movement, which I installed in one of the heater hoses.

Certainly wasn’t original equipment, but something I installed into the original heater system many decades ago because it tended to bleed hot air into the system in summer.

When the system was gassed, the AC specialist tested it, running only on battery, for 20 minutes and was well pleased with the result in terms of flow and temperature. I do however believe that an upgrade to the alternator would be a positive enhancement.

Great result. You are much braver than me, I never contemplated splitting the back from the base as I thought it was far too complex. Did mine with the seats intack and it did work well.

Nice job. Must admit I used solid Clark rubber foam. It is white rather than yellow and a year plus in my wife commented on Sunday how comfortable the seat is. We were out testing the new electric airconditioning, but that is a post for the future.

The replacement choke “cable” I used was also single solid wire. Vaguely think it came from K-mart when they used to stock car things.
