    Replacing Main Bearings

Thanks for the replies. It is indeed the shells I'm referring to. I think I have some knocking and it sounds like bearings. The car is actually a TVR and the sump can be dropped easily enough. Not an SD1 I grant you, but I find the help and expertise on this forum very use friendly. Thanks.

    Replacing Main Bearings

Wondering if I can get some advice / guidance. I’m planning on replacing the rod bearings on the 4.3 V8. The engine will be in situ in the car. My thinking is that when I remove the rod cap, I can push the connecting rod up the cylinder chamber enough to refit the new bearings. I’ve not...

I've not removed a distributor before and I'm a bit unclear why this should upset the timing though. As I understand it, when I lift out the distributor, the rotor arm is going to move due...

TVR Griffith 1992 (Rover V8 engined)

Hi, I’m hoping I can perhaps benefit from the experience on this forum of any Rover V8 owners. The engine is the TVR produced Rover V8 4.3 which I believe starts life as a Rover 3.9 block. Having had to leave the car unused for almost a year, and starting her up, I quickly established there...
