Hi Eddy
I have a strip speedo from a 2000 sc that was a right off in the 70`s FKR 931L with just 2400 miles on it. Its rusty as hell where its sat in the garage for the last 25 years when I removed it. It may or may not work but you are welcome to it if you have no luck with the cable.
You have...
As for the oil leak, my money is on the cylinder head `O` ring at the back. Well worth a good look as they have a habit of leaking when the rubber goes hard and leaks down the back of the engine.

morning Rich. With the recent chat about seat belt testing would it be an idea to put a link to the testers manual somewhere as a sticky so everyone can look at the requirments , it would be up to date with current testing. anyway just a thought. keep up the good work you do. regards Nick
Why not remove the oil pressure switch and give the hole a good squirt with an oil can, refit the switch and leave it a couple of hours to drain back through the oil gallery.
Nick
I did see the car in the flesh last year and it is a cracking car.
Personally I would source a 2200 tc engine and return it to `as was` speck.

Your welcome to it, if its of use to you. Its the proper one with the two supplements

Crickey mate tell me that`s not the proper mileage. Two and a half thousand miles since 2006. I have to say I do like the strip speedo and round clock/rev counter.
Have you run it through the old police computer yet?
Nick
Yeah it sounds like the lock needs replacing. You should not be able to remove the key with the engine still running.
Have a look to see if the shear bolts have been snapped off. If they have been sheared off, it is a bit of a pain getting to it with a centre punch if they have been left whole I...
Welcome Eddy
Wasn`t you who gave me a ticket on Blue Bell hill back in 1977 was it? Ha Ha!
I`m only up the road from you so hope to see you about in it.

I am in the process of changing my old leaking and corroded dion tube.
I have stripped down two spare grease filled tubes so as to pick out the one in best condition.
Now on pulling them apart one was fitted with the 2 felt seals (one either end) and with the metal retainer washer
The other...
In the past I have followed the WM and removed one rear elbow to remove the dion tube, but it crossed my mind that you may be able to remove it if you can compress it enough to get it past the the fixed studs in the elbow.
Has anyone tried it this way?
If so did you need to leave the weight on...
