Hello. as per title, does anybody know what size and thread the oil pressure sender unit has for the gauge not the red light?
I need a new one and there are a few different types on eBay for half the price of Wins, but with all different threads etc.
Thanks for responding.
Ah that's strange then. It has the usual 2 wires for balast circuit on the positive terminal, the 1.5 ohm ballast coil I've just learnt, but with the engine running it's still over 12v..
It's been been on long journeys but hasn't cooked the coil either!?!?
I did switch...
Hello I have a 1975 Rover P6 V8 automatic.
I am wondering what coil I should have on there?
it's getting 12 volts to the coil with the ignition on, so therefore not ballast resist.
I have a few non ballast resistor coils but across the terminals they are all 3 ohms.
The one on the car despite...
Hello as per title, i was wondering if any one knows the size of the female unions that are on the petrol tank fuel level sender? been supplied a new sender unit without them.
its an 8mm olive used.
I cannot use the old ones. Different plumbers merchants and Pirtek etc do not do them...
Ok thanks, I'll have a look when I get a chance. As said I only have 2 wires coming from the dash. One is a constant live the other wires voltage picks up on the multimeter as I rev the engine.
I assume there's no way to "doctor" the rev counter with the 3 inputs?
Hello i have a 1975 3500 running on traditional points set up. Itt's had the rev counter replaced but still doesn't work.
I'm used to having a positive to power it ,the body to earth and 2 wires to loop with the coil.
However coming from the dash there are only 2 wires.
A positive to power...
Hello i have a 1970 2000sc auto P6. I am going to to swap engines over and going to put a healthier 2.2 in.
Can anyone tell me what is the easiest way.
1 To remove the auto box and engine as one complete unit, split, swap and replace back into vehicle.
2 Or just remove the engine leaving autobox...
Thanks to you both! i'll have a play with the servo and then check the rear calipers of death! Not a fan of going near them as my axle stands and jack only lift the car enough for the de dion to be low enough to be accessible ( just enough so it sits across touching my neck with a ton and a...
Hello, i noticed my original lockheed servo was leaking, so instead of repairing i thought id just replace. i went for an uprated "Powertune" replacement off ebay.
Am i missing something or are these just rubbish? i've bled and bled it through the old fashioned 2 people method, i've even...
Hello. Has anyone got the 2 flexi hoses that bolt into the bottom of the rad that carry the transmission fluid from the auto box to be cooled.
My car is a 1970 2000sc auto but im happy to doctor any hoses for length as would assume the connections and bore would be the same for all on the rad...
Hello can anyone tell me the nut connection size and thread type, so i can look for one to be made up unless someone has a second hand one for sale? its the flexi hoses that bolt on to the bottom of the radiator from the autobox. mine have been completely removed prior and just looped off !! my...
Hello, i have just recently purchased a Mk1 2000sc auto 1970. I knew it needed engine work but have seemed to have opened up a can of worms.
I was told that "the previous owner" (that old chestnut) had put in hardened unleaded seats in/ on a car that had only done 35k from new. (this bit is...
what even with different aftermarket or soured hoses? that you surely would need if your robbing a new different car of a rad? I Whent straight for the correct rad but seemed to be space for one?
Less the inlet and outlet are opposites??
