Try changing the caps over . Blank cap on the radiator and pressure release cap on the overflow header tank.

I did my ignition switch last year. 50yrs of crud stopped it intermittently once too often. I did the final clean/lube with CRC electrical contact lube.

Ron, Thanks for pointing out the reason for the differences. I haven't vented the inlet port to either side of the radiator. I did acquire that splitter box that fits in front of the inlet port, but felt my p6 was breathing OK without that extra plumbing.

Hello Harvey. Here are the two boxes in question. P6b box on top ,SD1 in place. Virtually same size except for the inlet port. Ive got the larger filters in them now. Down here we can get RYCO A1705 .Just had to source two longer bolts to secure them inside.

I see that the Sd1 has different size air boxes. One SD1 airbox has pancake style filter . I picked up one almost identical to my P6 airbox and filled it with RYCO A1705 filters. I had to re drill the holes on the legs where it sits on those two locating pins at the rear of the rocker cover...

The SD1 air filter box/canister has a larger inlet port. Just sayin. If you dont want to hack your P6 airbox.

Makes sense - large P6b air filter box will handle the larger filters x2 with ease. You just need 2x longer bolts.

Dont forget ,we in the antipodes, have some of the highest UV rays on the planet. Im usually found inside on a clear hot day. Years as a clean skin lad enjoying surfing and later driving semi naked on a tractor producing agricultural product, has given my skin grief.
