Do these wheel trims have a name

I just bought these from eBay

I was wondering what name they were known by?

Also, how do people refer to the ones I currently have?

I've noticed cars fitted with the S trims like i the ones i bought seem to have silver coloured wheel nuts

Like this

Are these chrome / stainless caps or are they chrome / stainless nuts?

Well you're sort of committed if you use the 'S' trims as they look wrong without them. The long nuts through the trims were apparently developed for the police to stop the problem of the spinners spinning during high speed braking & slicing the top off of the air valves.

I seem to recall the late Pilkie finding stainless nuts at a reasonable price. Gorilla is in my brain as a connection. :hmm:

That was the first "upgrade" I did.
Replaced the factory OE stainless P6b trims for P6b'S trims.
She went a lot better

I wonder whether I am the only person on here to actually prefer the look of the standard series 2 wheel trims. A couple of people have suggested that I change mine for the ‘S’ trims but I really prefer the standard look. Each to their own I suppose!

There are two types of S-trims. The first type is made from stainless steel featuring a brushed finish. The second type is made from stainless steel which is highly polished, almost chrome-like. This type is much less common and very rarely seen.

My Dad when he purchased what is now my Rover in 1978 did not like the S-trims that the car was fitted with. He thought that they were too lairy, indeed he like your good self preferred the standard 3500 trim.

Same with the person I bought the car from. He said he loved the standard trims

wheels and trim is always a personal taste. at moment I have standard series 2 wheel trim. know another owner whom has P5 wheels fitted and loves them. I would like alloy wheels ( minilite) but sadly £££ out of reach.
