Converting an SC Auto to Manual (for the fun of it)

Now I have my SC Auto sorted and reliable.. I'm wondering how much effort it is to convert to Manual, In particular, what needs to happen around the rear cross member and tail shaft? Can appreciate the effort required for the pedal box and fly wheel/clutch change over. Its a 68 Series 1 2000 SC Auto. VIN (Base Unit) suffix 'H' and Engine No Suffix 'F'

All of the rear end from the back of the propshaft is the same. I can't see any problems doing the conversion, and you have outlined the main areas that need to be addressed.

Aren't the propshafts different in length? I seem to remember that the auto one is somewhat shorter.

I think it recently came up that the engine bearer plate is different as well, but that won't make any difference when converting from auto to manual, but makes things difficult the other way around.

Thanks all, so if the prop shaft is a different length the maual GB must be shorter than the BW35 Auto? Is the round rubber mount that the rear mounting bar goes through in the same place (forward to rear) relative to the front engine mounts or will I need to make something up?

Have you thought about putting a 5 speed Toyota box into it? I have done this conversions, and I like having fifth gear!

Would be good to have a 5th gear. Our laws are very strict if you want to have an old car on Historic rego. can have period mods but nothing modern. Even disc brake conversions (not that that applies to a P6) aren't allowed

Mine's got a few mods  but nothing really modern. Can you fit a jag diff for instance?
