V8 cold start up after rebuild

I recently posted about having my V8 rebuilt and later posted the rolling road results.
Thought you might to see how it now starts, on a freezing cold day on full choke.
Previously it used to slowly lumber its way to life like it was coming out of a deep sleep. Now it bursts into life eager to go. I do not touch the accelerator during start-up.

Your pre rebuild description exactly describes mine when it starts up!

Huge difference post rebuild

Do you still have the mechanical fuel pump fitted?

Does the idle settle or do you have to give it a little blip like I do on mine?

Forget that, you are on choke, of course it will come down.

Strangely, before the rebuild, if I came to a stop in traffic it would sometimes idle at just over 1000 and if I blipped the throttle it would drop just below. But now it is just steady all the time.
