I think I would look at the date marks on the tyres possibly look to change them before using the car on the road propely as in the time I've known the car it has been stationary in the one spot, you may need to adjust the steering box or add oil this may help with the feel of the steering weight.

Having just seen the pics my question about the single carb being fitted still has been answered, Looks like you will be busy for a bit I had to do a bit on mine last year and fabricated the bits I needed from sheet steel of cuts that I got from a local steel works
