    Speedometer problem

Hi everyone.I have a 1968 series one 2000tc with the strip type speedometer.I went for a run the other day and everything was good when all of a sudden my Speedo strip disappeared and there was a loud ticking noise coming from the back of the Speedo unit.I am not a mechanic by any stretch of the...

    Rover 2000tc clutch master.

Thanks everyone for your replies.Even more mystified now.Had a good look yesterday after topping up with fluid.I could not find any evidence of fluid leakage on either the master or slave cylinders.Took it out for a run and did about 30 miles.Checked the fluid and it was still full.I think I...

    Rover 2000tc clutch master.

Hi all.I took my p6 for a run and all was well apart from the fact that the clutch biting point seemed to have dropped. All gears are still engaging but when I removed the top off the clutch master I could not see any fluid in it.Would I get away with just topping it up ? Kind regards Tony.

    Dodgy gearstick.

All I can add Brian is that the new bush I fitted was not pliable at all.It was quite rigid but in my opinion I would repost to give some of the experienced people a chance to help you in case they missed mine. Also if you are on Facebook join the Rover P6 Help, advice and tips page as there are...

    Dodgy gearstick.

Went out in mine yesterday to test it out.All good.A bit noisy as I have only just ordered a new gaiter.Had to stretch the bush over the steel ball to get the new pin to line up.I would think that if the plastic bush was stretched the ball would slip through it.

    Dodgy gearstick.

Thank you.I have just put it back together after a bit of fiddling about and choice language. All gears seem to be selecting so just needs a new gaiter now as other one fell to bits.

Good luck.Doesn’t look difficult to be honest.Ordered the new bush and pin from Wadhams and treated myself to some new bolts and washers from Rimmer Bros.

    Dodgy gearstick.

Thanks all.All removed now just awaiting parts.Spherical bush was shot.Third bolt was difficult to remove because a nut had been put on it and was just spinning.
