    Clutch replacement

The selector peg does not have a rubber. You cannot just slide the gearbox out as the starter motor bulge does not clear the transmission tunnel, you have to rotate it through 90 degrees clockwise after pulling it back slightly. It is a two man job, some professionals claim it is easier to...

How do I open the bootlid

On my 2200 SC, the slot is always vertical and springs back to that position when the key is released. The same key fits the glove boxes and the petrol filler. Turn the key clockwise to unlock and anticlockwise to lock. If the key can be depressed then it is locked.

    Wiper Fuse keeps blowing

My car has the link mechanism. My 2200 parts book shows a cap on the shaft, but not the plate that pushes it in. I've found a small grommet that is a tight fit on the shaft and have applied a smear of rubberlube to the plate. This has done the trick but for how long remains to be seen

    Wiper Fuse keeps blowing

That makes perfect sense, though I am a little mystified as to why, when I've owned the car for ten years and don't recall there ever being a cap, the problem has only emerged within the last few weeks. The S/H unit currently on sale on eBay doesn't have a cap either. I'll improvise something...

    Wiper Fuse keeps blowing

The 25 amp fuse supplying the wipers on my 2200SC keeps blowing. I've traced the source to the delay unit. The problem seems to be that when the unit is at rest ie with the plunger fully extended, the moving contact in the unit is held in position by the metal cup on the rear of the vacuum...

    Brake fluid

The strength of braided lines is in the braiding, so they must be replace if there is any damage to the outer braiding.

    SU fuel pump pressure

Normal pressure for carburettors is 3-5 ib/sq.in but if he went to a specialist he could probably get the correct replacement.

    Servo and Water pump 2200sc

Sounds as if the air valve in the servo (under the white circular cover) is jammed. You can get a water pump from any of the specialist suppliers.

    Oil pressure Guage

The P6 thread is 3/8" BSF. Holden Vintage & Classic sell a T-piece to fit. The take-off for the gauge is 1/8" NPTF

    Series 2 Reproduction Bonnet badge

Fitted mine recently, much better quality than the original, the only trouble is it makes the rest of the car look shabby.

    Conversion to Electronic Ignition

You are on the right track. The unit you describe will fit. I fitted a Powerspark kit to my 2200SC, same company as Accuspark. It worked well initially, but cold starting became more reluctant, then a misfire at low revs and eventually complete failure. I have now changed it for an Aldon...

    front pistons

Try slackening the bleed nipples, although if they are that hard to push back I wonder if the flexible hoses are partially collapsed internally.

    Uprated alternator

I had the same problem with my car, it turned out that it had been fitted with an alternator from a Ford, which had a larger pulley, meaning that it wasn't spinnng as quickly.

Glemham is not on this year, Stonham is, you may be a bit late to book though.
