Managed to get everything back together today and the screeching is no longer occurring, so hopefully it was just a lubrication issue. Thanks again everyone for the input. BTW for anyone attempting this I have the link system which looks a lot simpler than the other types listed in the manual!

Sounds good. My 2000TC failed it’s WOF last week for a variety of reasons including rust and various mechanical maladies but a “care package“ is on its way from WINS to address most of the issues (aside from the rust) so I hope to be back using it as my daily driver in the near future.
