    cyclist rant

Well said Ron. I'm sure we could all come up with tales of dangerous cyclists, motorcyclists, car/truck/van/bus drivers but that should not give us justification to class them all the same. All sections of society have a percentage of nutters, some of them make sweeping statements like ' I...

    The lure of the P6

I am 39 , one of my earliest memories was a farmer I knew driving a P6 and as a kid I always liked the look of the car but as I grew up never actually thought of buying one. Moving on I had to cut back on motorcycling when I had children of my own but wanted to still drive something interesting...

What cars appeal to Rover owners

Here is an odd choice. I've had a Citroen Berlingo Multispace for 7 years now and all things considered it is probably the best all rounder I've had. Its not the fast or pretty but it has been cheep to run, reliable and ultra practical. Its not my main family car but I'd be lost without it...

What's the weather like where you are?

1/2 way between Glasgow & Edinburgh, couple of days snow in last 2 weeks but not too much of a problem. Been very cold here, ice patches all over, slippy in car parks and side roads. Freezing fog tonight. Like beer for breakfast, but whisky for supper. robert

    Holts Tyreweld

mot - my tester told me the spare will be checked during a test if possible but if it is illegal will not fail the car, only issue an advisory note and many new cars do not carry a spare now, they either have run flat tyres or a can of sealant. Holt Tyreweld - I used to work as a tyre fitter...

    non starter

the charger is a good quality but fairly low output unit which I bought mainly for motorbike batteries so I dont think it should be too risky, and I have used it on the car before. I will probably just buy a new battery as this one is 4 years old. I'm hoping a light chap on the starter will...

    non starter

My car has not been started since August, went today and connected battery charger to battery and tried to start. Rev counter jumped up 1/2 way round the dial and stayed there when I turned on ignition, and when turning key fully to start all I got was a buzzing noise from engine bay. 1975...

    touch up paint

Thanks guys. I had a quick search on google and found many suppliers. I used a company called Auto Paint St Helens, who can send paint by post. I got a small tin with brush delivered for under £10 and it looks like a good match. Robert

Petrol "Lead" Additives - Superblend - Now Morris Lubricants and receipe change

Brian, you said you switched from Tesco to BP , do you think this made any change to the performance. I have seen huge debates on other forums with arguments for and against supermarket fuels both standard and 'performance' unleaded and no one seems to agree if any is any better, possibly...

    touch up paint

I have some stone chips I would like to touch in on my car, the local paint shop have told me they cannot supply the paint in a touch up stick like they can for modern paints. Has anyone used or recomend an online supplier which will post a touch up stick or small tin of paint. thanks Robert
