It was great to meet you (and OCC) Phil. The car is a credit to your skill and determination to return it to the road.

    OCC 469 - restoring & running a "sharkstooth" 2000

Phil, check the cam wheel support plate. I had a very similar tick to yours and it was as a result of the chain just catching the support plate.

    running rough

All may not be lost, measure them and see what the differences are. If its only a few thou you can put them back anywhere, you only need something to give you a benchmark figure.

    2200TC Project

Brian, Sincere apologies for the typo which was down to me, I appreciate it must have been irritating as a new member to see your name spelt incorrectly. I have added you as a new member again in the April edition and this time spelt your name correctly! Your thread on here would make a great...

    p6 rover

John, Thanks for the pics. If you can isolate the pump/fuel feed you could try filling up the carb reservior manually and see if it will run. It won't run for long but it wont flood and if it runs OK when the float chamber isn't being filled then you can be reasonably certain it is a float issue.

    p6 rover

John, I also have a 1964 car so haven taken a picture of the distributor. Not sure if it helps but mine runs fine. I'd love to see some pictures of yours once it's sorted. Alan

    Putting a three litre in a 90.

Tim I'm pretty sure the P5 crankshaft was different for manual 3 litres than auto 3 litres throughout the production run until the P5 Mk III came along when (I think) they managed to introduce commonality. Is it a DG autobox? If so it is from a Mk II or earlier P5. You will need a manual crank...

Seat belt ebay seller vat issue (if outside UK)

I'm afraid VAT rules are a nightmare for sellers and buyers. The problem he has is in proving to HMRC that the goods actually went to Australia which on the face of it seems easy, not always the case when dealing with goverment departments. No excuse for not responding to your emails though...

    Rolon timing chain tensioners

This a bit worrying. I bought two from Winns six months ago and the bottom one has been fitted. Is there an alternative? Will the INA ones fit?

    OCC 469 - restoring & running a "sharkstooth" 2000

I've just booked mine in to be done over winter in 2 pack and when I asked him about colour match (not so critical when you're doing the whole car) he said "We find a good area on the panel, give it a really good polish and then take a high res pic whic we forward to the paint supplier, never...

    4Cyl clutch cover/pressure plate

Not sure if it helps but there was a service newsletter that showed a mod you could do to the withdrawal housing though both cover plates seem to have a central thrust pad suggesting that there were two early type covers but I'm not sure that's correct!

    Extraterestrial UFOs?

Obviously news of the P6 has reached the far flung corners of the cosmos ........I'm guessing with their advanced fuels they'll be after 10.5 : 1 early V8's which they can fill with 5 star........though how they'll condense 5 stars to fit in the tank goodness knows!
