    A word of warning

Check that the fuel hose is from a reputable manufacturer(Gates, Goodyear etc.), as there is some nice folk out there selling fuel hose(usually on-line)that is purporting to be SAE R9, when indeed it is not

    How many have Radios

My particular favourite if in-car entertainment is a must would be the JVC Chameleon. Just superb in any car, old or new. When it's not in use, it just looks like a black sheet of glass.

    I am happy again

That is undoubtedly my kind of P6 - superb! So nice to see with the twin ring trims too.

    Agnetha

There still appears to be a lot of Abba fans out there. Though not many would admit to liking the music, more the female singers. I really like their music and the way it perfectly encapsulates the 70s. All time favourite?..For me I'd have to go for The Name of the Game, followed closely by I...

    Red P6

I spotted a red P6 today (RCL ****) going eastbound on the Farnham Road from Odiham area. I think it was a V8. I was in my old white Triumph Pi going the opposite way. A nice sight to see was the P6; the only one today!

    Junkyard SD1

I've pretty much given up on going to breakers yards here in the UK. Anyway, the chance of finding a suitable part anywhere for a 1971 Triumph saloon nowadays is very thin indeed. I've popped into one or two trying to find parts for my later car(1987 BMW 730), and all there is in most breakers...

    classic car rescue 2014

Yes, not the most ideal image to send out to every home about "cowboys" running around in these old bangers risking the lives of other motorists  *Surely not! You mean that 'they' can use TV as some sort of tool for spreading propaganda to the masses

This project will upset the purists

It sort of reminds me of a RoadKill. But they would drive the car 500miles without any registration, MOT, insurance etc. and then drag race the car afterwards. Shame about the clutch though. I'd have thought when the engine and box was out...

NHS - No Sense of Humour :)

So how did the ride home on the motorcycle go Richard

Fuel system and pump relocation options.

I never say such things Mike, as a nice easy job then goes on for an age with all sorts of problems. Good luck with the fuel pump; don't get any petrol in your eyes

    Electronic Distributor - simonbbc

I'm not convinced about 'certain' aftermarket distributors that replace the original Lucas items myself. I have had a replacement aftermarket distributor from one of the "low cost suppliers" with great disappointment indeed. But yet some people on here have tried 'certain' aftermarket...

SD1's, love them or hate them?

I think most folk really like the SD1 overall. But as a daily they can be a bit wearing. I recently sold my SD1 VDP EFI as the cost of replacing rust with metal and sorting some engine woes would have just harelipped the bishop. I have replaced the SD1 with a 1987 BMW E32 which is in the same...

Budget news on car tax exemption!!

That reminds me of the very interesting documentary about the all-British TSR-2 jet fighter from the 60s. Nearly 200 million pounds was spent in research and development. There were two prototype TSR-2s, but only one that had been trialled with great success. A general election followed by a new...

Budget news on car tax exemption!!

I was thinking the very same. It appears to be the usual sort of coercion tactics just before a general election. My guess is it has worked  But I wonder what the price of free tax on our classics will be for 2015 onward :?:

    Which electronic ignition?

I use a Pertronix Ignitor on my old Triumph. Apart from a tachometer compatibility issue(tach not working)it has been superb for the last 7 years. My father has the Lumenition Magnetronic fitted to his P6B which I believe is the best for reliability and stealth with no unsightly amplifiers on...
