Hmm, same day as the Scottish Italian Car Day at the same venue and I'm on holiday. . . poor timing on my part! That's two events I can cross off this seasons calendar unfortunately.
Now sorted. I replaced the live bullet connectors for the indicator unit and did the earth one just for good measure. All good now (famous last words!)
The power feed is the problem. I ran a live from the battery to the unit and it lit using its original earth. I assume the relay won't be the problem as it just switches power and it won't know if it's switching for the off side or near side so it must be in the wiring somewhere.
I hate electrics.
Thanks gents.
The flashers work at the correct rate but don't light the osf bulb so i'll try a different earth point. The unit is okay as I ran power directly from the battery and the lamp lit in the holder.
Hi, I'm having a problem with my osf indicator. At first I thought it was a bulb as the n/s flashed fine but the o/s flashed at twice the rate and only at the back. I replaced it with a working bulb and it didn't make a difference. I put a test lamp on the live feed coming out the inner wing and...
Hi William,
There is a meet on the first Wednesday of each month in the Park Hotel on the a82 at clydebank, not exactly central but probably only an hour is so along the M80/m8 from Falkirk. I only found out about it a couple of months ago and went up last month, there were about a dozen is so...
That's my white 2000 tagged on at the end, 720 mile round trip from Ayr. Nice to meet Ian and Tony, pity I didn't catch up with you cobra boy, that's a cracker of a car you've got!
Hmmm,, I fitted unfused relays.... Oh well, a trip to halfords tomorrow then!
I took my supply from the starter relay as its on the inner wing on the 2000 and the loom runs from it to the lights.
Do I need to change the fuse in the box now for something lower? If I check the current across...
Thanks for the reply, Ive had a look at the sticky and I think I'll need to forgo my crimped connectors and invest in a soldering iron to do the job justice!
Hi, I'm planning on fitting relays to the headlights on my 1972 2000tc to take the strain off the fuse box but being a bit of a dummy where electrics are concerned I'm hoping someone with more knowledge will confirm my intentions or point out why if it's not correct.
I've bought a 4 pin 30a...
